Giant Squid has been the most fun song to progress through our music factory over the years. We didn't add the bridge till the final master and it was sprinkled with inspiration of our 2 favorite seaman songs "Whaler's Tale and "Chicken on a Raft"  We also watched with the world as the squids became officially considered sentient by us hoomans and the giant squid first emerged into our plain of existence, flashing its graces of epic glory across our lenses. Abe performed with equal amplitude on this one in my opinion. He's recently in the last 2 years taken up the cajon and I'm loving everything he has been able to accomplish. I actually used to not like singing this song until we made changes. It almost did not get added to the album and Abe convinced me that it had potential and I just need to have a more challenging part to add. He knows me well. The things that interest me the most about making music are circling around learning and seeking. We both love trying new things, no matter how awkward, pitchy or ridiculous we sound.  It keeps things fresh and exciting. On another note, we've been seriously  considering a remake of several songs from our early albums and also doing a "covers only" album.  So as we gain more independence from the beautiful bramble of raising a baby into an independent kid we feel the momentum gaining as this kid is now fully verbal and interested in things like singing and making music. Squid is one of his favs.  Looking forward to the future.
