"The Ice Cream Stand"  another  new song we just finished recording.  The story behind this song is inspired by true events that took place in our town and community.  It's an untold story from a perspective that was not considered in the local media or judicial system. This song is motivated by the internal struggle within ourselves as human beings. It is about our constant battle with ourselves about what is right and what is wrong? The themes we followed in this song are crime and punishment, nepotism, greed, addiction, fear, love, fatherhood, redemption, murder and first and foremost it's a story about a family.  Sometimes the law does not protect a person's right to a fair punishment that is equal to their crimes. Sometimes we don't always see the desperate influence behind a person's wrongful deeds. We are so wrapped up in our own personal trauma that we fail  to understand the full story and we act out of fear and rage. Some take the law into their own hands while shouting, "Make my Day!" And even though the law might protect us from our own actions, there's  an even deeper sense of internal code we follow that is shouting, "It was wrong!"   Does the punishment fit the crime? In the eyes of a parent, doesn't every child deserve the chance to redeem themselves?
