Mandy’s attitude toward Fiona is a problem, but also makes perfect sense if you think about it from her perspective. Mandy’s house and family is a nightmare (as we saw all too well last season), Lip and the Gallagher house is her safe place. Fiona is a threat to that safety because she looks down on Mandy and doesn’t approve of her relationship with Lip. So it’s in Mandy’s best interests for Fiona to not be the undisputed head of the household, and for Lip to take more control — while also enlisting Mandy’s help, making her a contributing member of the household. It also probably feels satisfying to see Fiona taken down a peg after Fiona’s been rude to her.
