> Continue to talk with Myla

You decide it might be best if you don't keep pushing your luck by flirting with Myla. Her belly may be pretty large, but you figure she'd make room for you if you annoyed her too much.

You change the subject by just telling her that you were just checking, though your tone of voice makes it obvious you were doing a little more than that.

"Seven hells, you're weird..." Myla still remains a bit embarassed. "You do realize you're flirting with a bloody bandit you met yesterday, right? Besides, I'm not- Er... Nevermind."

You're a little curious as to what she was going to say, but decide against asking. You instead decide to ask where the beastkin is originally from.

"Kerim. First village you come to when you go to Mesai." She sighs a bit thinking about it. "There's no telling if the place is even there anymore. A lot of us left cause of the war. The border between Mesai and Grental is just north of that village, so you can imagine we were getting nervous. We thought we might be able to find a safe place here in Sidol, but it turns out we weren't the only refugees. Konic was in the same boat. I think he was from somewhere in Grental though." You ask if they were turned away. "Sorta. We were told that we couldn't live in Erada City, but we could probably find a place in one of the villages. Problem is that the only village here on the mainland is Malor, and that place filled up pretty quick. Few of us could afford an airship to the eastern islands where the majority of Sidol actually is, so we were just stuck." The beastkin looks down to the ground. "Of course, I never made it to Malor. That bastard Konic caught me on this road. That was... about two years ago, I think."

Asking her about her past doesn't seem like the happiest subject. You make a note to ask her more about Kerim when she's feeling a bit better. For now, you just ask her if she's been to Malor recently.

"Yeah. About a week or so ago. Last I checked, there wasn't much going on." She thinks for a moment. "I think there was some group wanting to open up the old mines again. Looked kinda shady though. Oh, and the old man was back too. Wonder if he's still there." You ask about the old man. "Heh, if he's there, you'll see. Great guy. A little weird in the head, but great."

You ask her one last question. With her being a wolf beastkin, her sense of smell is probably pretty good. You ask if she could perhaps follow a scent trail from Konic to his stash.

"I'm not some sort of bloody hound, you know." She seems annoyed at your idea. "I ain't sticking my nose to the ground to find whatever scraps that bastard left behind. Let's just get the stupid bounty and leave it at that."

The two of you keep talking as time passes. Night starts to fall and Myla's belly gets down to a managable size. You do mentally muse about the fact that she looks pregnant. You do manage to keep your mouth shut about that though. She gets up and stretches a few times. "Heh. I think my tits are bigger." You blink at her sudden statement. "I guess Konic was useful for one thing. Heheh."

"Well, we can go ahead and get to Malor before it gets too late." She cuts you a glance. "Assuming you ain't scared of a little dark, that is. Heheh."

And our wolfkin is from the Kingdom of Mesai! The human kingdom! Her home village isn't actually super far away.

By the way, you guys tell me if you think I'm doing things too slowly or if there's too much dialogue. I'm still figuring out the pacing for this. Hard to balance how much content is in a single post while letting you guys have a fair amount of choice.

Also, from here on, all ARPG posts will be colored, thanks to a certain person on Patreon. I'll probably do it like I am with this one, and color it later in the day. I like to try and get these posts up asap so that you guys can comment on em. :V
