Because while our heroes are going about their business, some events are also happening in the world. NPCs do not stand still, they continue to live their lives. I wanted to add a “meanwhile” button to the screen that could appear at a certain moment and disappear if the player missed this moment, but at the moment everything happens linearly. The message “Meanwhile...” appears and a cut scene begins. When this scene ends, the game continues.
