Hi guys!
I'm back and already working).
I decided to make a small change in the update, namely I removed the "Curiosity" option. Because in fact it is the same as “Corruption”, it is difficult to understand where the difference is, and it took up more space on the screen. So now it will be like this:
1. Corruption,
2. Relationships
3. Transformation.
Everything is clear about 2-3, but about 1 I decided to ask your opinion. When is the best time to increase this parameter? Many moments in the game force the player to increase this parameter automatically (for example, if Rocky does something forbidden by Martha, etc.) and this cannot be avoided. But of course, the more the story develops, the more opportunities open up for the player, so in the future this parameter and the others too, will also depend on the choice and actions of the player. If you have any ideas - feel free to tell me (while there is still time before release). This new system is very important to the game and so we need to get it right now that we're just getting started. I also heard some of your suggestions and they are already in the game. For example, now the effect of the “HoneyLiker” spray is limited in time; if you are late, you will need to find another way (there is one). Some key locations are now visible visually. And most importantly, starting from this version, events will begin between the main characters. Now the story has some branches for each character. Usually there is a group of characters and it all depends on where the protagonist goes, but with us from time to time you can play for each character (like in FF for example) and sometimes this will affect the plot. I wanted to start this later, but there was a new location and a new very cool character in the script (not in this update), so I decided to start developing the characters right in this version. I saw the list of changes that Miralissa showed, but now it's a little more of course).
Also about the content (now I'm talking about images), initially I didn't plan to draw a lot of images, I wanted to focus on the sprites on the map. This is why I increased the pixelation of the screen so that the player can see every detail (you can compare the size of the game with other games). I only wanted to occasionally add images at the most necessary moments, but mostly only make animated sprites. But people asked for a "close-up", so I try my best). I’m just not a professional in game development and it often happens that I finished an episode and posted an update, and then I realized that I could add images at some moments (for example, when Jenny looks at the orc, what does she see?), or when Rocky looks up at Jenny on hill, etc. Do you think we should go back to old moments to add an image, or should we just make new ones? On the one hand, more images make it more interesting to play (in every sense), but on the other hand, it takes more time, which means shorter updates and old saves can be forgotten.
Write what you think, I asked a lot of questions today :D.
