Man, who told you to react to this movie? I know you're probably not gonna react to Prisma Illya cause people can't forgive shit and honestly, some loli scenes in the show are quite rough, but Kaleid has some really good plot and some great action for the time it came out. This movie spoils the last villain and quite literally the antagonists for season 3 onwards. This movie, even though is a prequel to the show, is supposed to be watched after you finish season 3 cause some major spoilers. Even the second movie, which is a direct sequel to the 3rd season, directly follows this movie as this is supposed to be Shirou telling the cast his backstory.

I was told by everyone in my community as viewers on youtube that this movie can be watched without watching the anime. And since I wasn't planning on watching the anime, I decided to give the movie a shot at least and I actually enjoyed it a lot still. Biggest surprise to me was this new system of cards. I think that's really dope!

It was really interesting to see someone reacting to Oath Under Snow without the rest of the Prisma Context since normally it would be watched after Season 4 of the show. Yeah the animation is not necessarily the best, Silver Link is the studio who did this and they typically specialize in Slice of Life shows or shows with a small amount of action. Ironically though the fights in the show do have better animation. This version of Shirou is a fan fave cause its like Heaven's Feel Shirou but some UBW sprinkled in. Also in the show/manga he was kind of built up beforehand, this arc is actually presented in the manga as Shirou telling the Prisma cast what happened to him so it does kind of go by quickly. The dolls were created by the Ainsworths Displacement Magecraft to displace the souls of the dead into dolls, but because they don't have grail power like Illya did in Heaven's Feel there souls degrade over time leaving to issues, for example Shinji’s was memory loss and confusion. In Miyu’s world the Ainsworths basically replace the Einzberns. Also that world was dying so that's why they kept going on about saving humanity.
