Just to add a personal point on Archer. We all know Shirou is the type of person who puts everything onto his own shoulders and wouldn't try to shift responsibility to anyone else. Archer, although disappointed and fed up about Shirou's ideal, was at his core still the old Shirou. After he realized his ideal was flawed, his immediate and only thought was to kill himself to prevent further tragedy, rather than blame the people around him, Alaya, the world etc. That realization hit me quite hard when it first came to me. And to answer some of the questions I noted whilst watching, the reason for the anime not showing Archer's lore as much and his abilities is basically due to the limitation of anime. The novel is packed with words and no 24 episodes can recreate everything. The game also has a built-in status board for you to read about the skills and noble phantasms of all known servants in FSN. Plus, Ufotable didn't do a great job in lore/character development anyway, which is why these anime adaptations are constantly under debate (by this I mean almost every TM anime). In regards to Shirou after UBW route, the chat is right in saying he won't become Archer again. Nasu personally really dislike writing long after-talks because the character/arc is already completed. Nevertheless, he once asked Sanda, one of his friends, to write on either Lord El'meloi or Shirou&Rin London life. Sanda picked the former so we had the Case File novel and anime. As to Emiya Alter, he mostly appeared in FGO Shijuku chapter and Extra/CCC collab. You can either play the game (or watch recorded chapters on YT) or there are manga available for both of the chapters. Just, if you think Archer's lore is dark, wait for Alter's.
