The American theme on the packaging is unexpected.  This company sells lookalike Wago style connectors, plus this pleasingly minimalist inline splice for joining solid core or stiff-strand wires.

It works quite well, and the use of the copper contact bar does suggest it will have a low resistance.

Inside a SpliceLine push in cable connector

A look at an alternative to the classic Wago style push-in wire connectors. The design is reassuringly simple, with what appears to be a copper contact plate with springy steel tangs that grip the wire and hold it firmly onto the copper. The way the spring metal is attached to the copper is fairly complex, with a set of tiny rivets that appear to be formed from the copper plate itself. These came from Screwfix in the UK, but are probably available from many other distributors around the world. https://www.screwfix.com/p/ideal-32a-2-way-push-wire-connector-10-pack/42201 They seem to do a very similar looking range to the classic Wago terminals too. Wagner in German makes Vago, but in English, it's Wago; just like Volkswagen is pronounced like it's spelled in English, but would be Folksvagen in German.

Definitely going to get a couple of packs-a brilliant bit of kit.

Screwfix do an "Installer Kit" that includes these and a selection of Wago style connectors. I've not found the straight through connectors useful for lengthening wires in wall boxes, the side-by-side connectors take up less space and can be 'lost' in a corner of the box. The through connectors need more space for wires to go in and out.

Ideal is a common US electrical component tool/bits manufacturer. Generally of medium quality. I wish I could find a new one ot the Ideal 7 in 1 screwdriver, with wirenut driver in the handle, that I had years ago. Wore out the screwdriver bits, and haven't found replacements.
