There's sensible cost cutting and then just going too far.

In this case they may have gone too far and compromised the safety of this bulb by removing electrical separation.   I wonder how many of these bulbs blow up at the factory, or after a short amount of use.

Over-cheapened trashy LED bulb

While I can appreciate the desire of the manufacturer of this style of bulb to make production cheaper, I think they may have gone too far. The usual spring contact inserts that connect to the smoothing capacitor and the incoming supply have been replaced with direct solder connections that are disturbingly close to the aluminium substrate of the panel. Add a good splash of glue that has completely obscured one of the LEDs and you have a low class bulb that has a high risk of failing with a bang due to poor electrical separation and heat. Think I has one of these. Switched on one night and a big bang. It spewed its guts all over. Found pieces days later. My punishment for buying cheap.

They couldn't decide on an indicator when it failed so a roaring structure fire is the default.

Don't call it the lowest of the low, you know they'll find ways to go lower.
