I've been exploring a Sharp Plasmacluster unit for vehicles - notably the fact it has expensive ion modules that expire after a fixed run time and then need replaced at great expense.

The module is completely potted with solvent/heat proof resin, meaning that an attempt to de-pot it results in component damage before the resin gives.

I have identified an I2C EEPROM though, but in trying to work out which pins are going to the connector it has destroyed the chip - so no data to read! 

The resin is also making it very difficult to reverse engineer the high voltage circuitry without destroying it.  So the video is going to have to be a vague summary of what's inside.

This product is literally Sharp getting people to subscribe to their proprietary cartridges like filters.  Except the wear on this end of life cartridge is absolutely minimal.

Hey Clive, do I remember correctly that you had a video where you put green house tape on a solar light to water proof it a little? …. I have been trying to find it
