2023 Recap (Patreon)

🎺HAPPY NEW YEAR!🎺

Hope you guys have had an awesome holiday season and are ready to take on the new year! I know I am. 2023 was a big year for me, not least of which because I was finally able to start working on my art part time. You guys played a big part in all that, so thank you so much for making 2023 awesome! I'm planning on making 2024 an even bigger year, and will be going into what I've got in mind a little later in this post. But for now, let's recap the art for December!

December Art Recap

• To start things off: I did a pair of covers for Korra Sandwich, Part 1, which finally marked that comic as complete! The full comic will remain available on Patreon for one more month, but in February, I'll be moving it to Gumroad. So be sure to download it before then!
• I then followed that up with a soft and warm 2-page SFW comic for Korrasami Day. Despite the challenges of that first panel, I really enjoyed working on this one.
• We then got yet another Korrasami illustration for the holiday season! This one was pretty tricky because of all the different elements. I loved drawing that aurora, though!
• And finally, that's right, another Korrasami mini comic to round out the year! This was a particularly steamy one that I quite enjoyed doing. I'm half-tempted to turn this idea into a multi-page comic one day, and explore what else Korra and Asami might be able to get away with at the festival 😉
• I also began work on the latest page of my ongoing FFXIV/OC comic The Things We Do For Love, but I'm afraid that won't be finished until sometime this week.

January Art

I've drawn a loooot of Korrasami in the last half-year, and so I decided to take a little break from them this month to focus on some other couples, based on your votes in last month's polls!

• To start, our first 18+ entry for the month will see a return of She-Ra and Catra, a couple I haven't drawn in a long time. That's right, I said She-Ra, not Adora. I've had an idea involving the big sword lady bouncing around in my head for quite a while, so I'm finally gonna do it this month!
• Following that, I'll be drawing a sweet SFW illustration of Suletta and Miorine all dressed up in their finery. This'll be my first time ever drawing this couple, and the idea I have in mind is not one I've done before either, so I hope I'm able to do them justice!
• Continuing on after that, our second 18+ piece for the month will feature Caitlyn and Vi. I'm in the mood for some bottom Vi, so you can look forward to a little something that'll scratch that particular itch 😉
• And finally, I intend to continue with the next page of The Things We Do For Love. We're getting close to the end of this one and I'm really excited for what'll come next (more on that below)!

January Polls

Don't fret Korrasami fans! In February I plan to get back to drawing Korrasami by continuing my Seasons in Republic City series with the Winter piece. So this month's SFW poll will feature a handful of options for that you can choose from.

As for the 18+ poll, I haven't fully decided yet, but I might just do a repeat of December's poll and include a handful of couples I haven't done in a while/never drawn before. Stay tuned!

Looking Ahead

With 2023 officially behind us, I wanted to briefly go over what I hope to accomplish in 2024:

• Ongoing 18+ Comics
  In February, I plan to begin Part 2 of Korra Sandwich with the 2 covers, and the comic itself will run another 6 pages, with a new page each month. But what about after that? Well, I've discovered that I really like drawing 18+ comics and want to do another after Korra Sandwich is finished. So once Part 2 kicks off, I'll be putting up a poll so you guys can vote on what the next multi-page 18+ comic should be. That should give me time to plan it out in advance so I can start it as soon as Korra Sandwich is done.
• More time for art
  Back in November, I announced that this Patreon is now successful enough for me to take the first half-step towards working on my art part-time. Assuming things keep going as they have, within the next few months I hope to be able to take that other half-step and start producing a bit more art for you guys each month! I need to wait and make sure the numbers are stable first, but once I can confirm that's the case, I'll officially make that jump. I'm not yet sure what form that extra art will take. More 18+ art is a given, but I hope to also work on some more SFW projects, too. Which brings me to...
• More OC art
  In the next few months, I should be able to finish up The Things We Do For Love. This one-off comic began as a way to practice drawing more dynamic poses and action, but over time I also came to see it as a trial run for a much larger project I want to take on in the near future: An ongoing webcomic starring my OC Kihrae, in an original setting. In the last year I've learned a lot, not just about what I want to do but also what I don't want to do for that webcomic. And now, this year I plan on taking the first steps towards making it a reality. So you may start to see me sharing some concept art of a redesigned Kihrae and Catalyna, and possibly even some world-buildy stuff. Could there also be some 18+ art of them in the works? Maybe!
• More Action
  Finally, this passed year I spent time learning how to get better at drawing action and other dynamic scenes, and I hope to increase those efforts this year. I'll likely still be sticking to Korrasami and CaitVi as my go-tos for a lot of my subject matter, but I also want to draw them kicking ass now and then, too. I really wanna draw Korra doing some more bending, and Vi demolishing shit with her gauntlets. So there might be a tiny bit less romancy stuff this year (naturally this is for SFW art only, 18+ stuff will still be the same it's always been 😉 ).
