I got into a throwing stance and put more magic into the lance and used [Overpower] with my spear and threw it at the Nevermore. The spear left a trail of light in the air and contacted the nevermore head. It went through the nevermore head. The nevermore lost all control over its body and fell toward the ground and collided with the trees leaving a path of destruction. The nevermore laid dead and it slowly started evaporating into nothing.
