"I wasn't eavesdropping, I swear! I just needed some fresh air, and I happened to overhear voices up here," the third-year devil quickly defended himself, feeling compelled to clarify his presence.
Tiamat and Vali appeared slightly alarmed by the sudden arrival of Sona's pawn, causing tension to fill the air. Ophis, on the other hand, seemed indifferent as she looked down at him. "I can sense Vritra within you. Finally, I've found the last fragment of him. How convenient that you would show up at a time like this. Your instincts must have guided you here."
"He possesses the final Vritra shard?" Tiamat sought confirmation from Ophis.
The dragon goddess nodded in affirmation. "Indeed, he does."
'Oh no... please don't tell me they're about to involve Saji in all of this,' Issei thought, his expression growing serious.
"He did mention having a dragon within his Sacred Gear a while back, didn't he? I never realized it was Vritra. It does make sense, though. From what I've heard, the Hindu God Indra split Vritra into five Sacred Gears," Ddraig interjected, sharing his knowledge with Issei.
"Issei, what the hell is happening here? Who is she?" Saji asked, his voice filled with genuine concern.
Issei let out a sigh before responding, "This is the Dragon God Ophis."
"W-what?! What does she want?" Saji's voice trembled with fear.
"I desire many things that are far too complex to explain to other beings," Ophis replied bluntly.
"Are you planning to awaken Vritra, Ophis? It could lead to complications if the devils or angels detect it," Tiamat voiced her anxieties.
The Dragon God nodded, acknowledging Tiamat's concern. "We will reunite with the others first. They will be eager to meet our new recruits."
Before Issei could comprehend what was unfolding, Ophis created a magical circle around them, teleporting Issei, Vali, Tiamat, and Saji a significant distance away from Kuoh.
In a matter of moments, they found themselves in an isolated area, and Issei couldn't determine their precise location. Observing a nearby shrine and a forested mountain in the distance, Issei deduced that they were still in Japan.
Seeking reassurance, Saji moved closer to Issei, his voice filled with frantic whispers. "Dude, what's happening? Why did she teleport us? Do you have any idea what this is about? And who the hell is Ophis? I've never heard of a dragon god before."
"Stay calm and try not to panic, okay? This isn't the right time to explain everything to you," Issei attempted to calm his fellow devil.
As Issei surveyed his surroundings with curiosity, he noticed a group of individuals standing together. Ophis slowly approached them before turning to face Issei and Saji. The figures flanking her stepped forward, their gazes fixed upon Issei and Saji.
Vali and Tiamat joined Ophis, leaving Issei and Saji standing alone before them. It suddenly dawned on Issei just how perilous the situation had become when he spotted Crom Cruach standing at Ophis' side.
'Oh, damn it... Crom Cruach?' Issei's thoughts mirrored his growing apprehension.
'This won't end well...' Ddraig's voice echoed in Issei's mind, mirroring their shared concern.
"These are my dragon generals within the Qlippoth. You may recognize some of them," Ophis stated in her usual emotionless tone.
"Dragon generals? Are they trying to recruit you for something, Issei?" Saji asked, his concern evident.
Before Issei could respond, Ophis commanded, "Introduce yourselves, everyone."
Curiosity flickered across the faces of some of the dragons, their attention momentarily drawn to Ophis' altered appearance. However, they remained silent, finding the presence of Issei and Saji more intriguing.
Tiamat took the initiative to speak first. "You already know me. I am Tiamat, the Chaos Karma Dragon and the Dragon Queen."
"We've crossed paths before. I am Mr. Black, also known as Crom Cruach, the Crescent Circle Dragon," the Irish dragon introduced himself, his voice carrying a certain gravitas.
"I am Yamata no Orochi, the Venom Blood Dragon. You may address me as Orochi, fellow dragon-kin," the dragon standing alongside Crom Cruach followed suit. He possessed a Japanese heritage, much like Issei himself, with long black hair adorned with white tips. His eyes had a captivating allure, their blood-red color seemingly inviting. His slender physique and the warpaint around his eyes added a touch of femininity to his appearance. Donned in traditional Japanese attire, he exuded an air of elegance.
Saji couldn't hide his disbelief as he blurted out, "W-Wait... Is that THE Orochi? The one from the legends?"
Orochi nodded politely. "Indeed, it is I."
The dragon positioned next to Tiamat stepped forward. "I am Aži Dahāka, the Diabolism Thousand Dragon and Scourge of the Zoroastrian Gods. The nemesis of Ahura Mazda."
Issei observed him briefly, noting his Middle Eastern origins and the resemblance in complexion to Tiamat. Adorned in armor reminiscent of ancient Persia, he wore a striking mask that concealed his face.
"I am Apophis, the Eclipse Dragon. You may know me as the archenemy of the Sun God Ra in the Egyptian pantheon," the dragon introduced himself next. Apophis, a brown-skinned man clad in black pharaoh-like robes, sported an Egyptian headdress. His bright silver eyes exuded a friendly aura, making him appear approachable. Issei found him to be the most amiable among the group, alongside Orochi.
Following Apophis, another dragon stepped forward. "I am Ladon, the Insomniac Dragon."
Ladon's features hinted at a Southern European or Mediterranean heritage, with reddish eyes and brown hair.
"And I am Grendel, the Berserker Dragon," the next dragon announced, his silver eyes darting around in an erratic manner. His black hair and pale complexion suggested an unstable disposition.
The final dragon, excluding Vali, practically hissed his name at Issei, "Níðhöggr, the Abyss Rage Dragon! Bane of Yggdrasill and the Norns! The enemy of Asgard!"
Níðhöggr, visually reminiscent of Northern European heritage, wore black chainmail armor that complemented his overall aesthetic. His striking white hair and bluish-green eyes radiated an unfriendly aura, matching his less-than-welcoming demeanor, much like Grendel.
