Tsubasa averted her gaze nervously as soon as her eyes met Issei's. Kiba, on the other hand, offered a friendly wave, while Saji shot Issei a predictable glare.
The rest of the devils displayed varying levels of curiosity, but one particular freshman with white hair and yellow eyes stood out. She stared intently at Issei and Vali, even sniffing the air a few times.
Vali rolled her eyes at the devils and adopted a sneering expression, clearly unimpressed by their presence. She halted briefly and nudged Issei, remarking, "Look at all that royalty, Issei. Haha."
Issei remained silent, continuing to ascend the stairs without engaging further. Vali's gaze lingered on the devils for a moment before she turned and followed Issei, prompting some of the devils to pause on the stairs as the two of them departed.
Once Issei and Vali were out of sight, Akeno closed her eyes and spoke calmly with a smile, "She seems quite unpleasant."
Rias turned to Sona, seeking clarification, "Who is that girl? Is she also a dragon? She's the one who came here with Tiamat-sama, right?"
Sona shook her head, replying, "I don't know much about her, but it appears that Tiamat-sama is often in her company. She doesn't strike me as a typical dragon, but her silver hair does seem strangely familiar."
Koneko chimed in with her usual stoic tone, "She has the scent of a devil to me. Hyoudou, on the other hand, doesn't seem to have any distinct scent. It's quite unusual for a dragon not to have a noticeable scent...they're hard to miss."
"Hmm, so she is a devil? Then why did she look at us like that? Doesn't she recognize Rias or Sona?" Akeno wondered with curiosity.
"She referred to us as royalty, so I assume she does," Rias replied, visibly annoyed.
"I don't know who that girl is, but she must be powerful if Tiamat-sama and Hyoudou-san are associating with her," Tsubaki interjected.
Sona nodded in agreement, addressing Tsubaki, "You raise a valid point. If that girl is indeed a devil, she likely belongs to a high-ranking devil family. No dragon would align themselves with a weak devil, especially not two dragons. The fact that she disregarded us is quite concerning if she knows our identities."
"She might be affiliated with a lesser-known devil house," Tsubaki speculated.
Rias interjected with a serious expression, "Silver-grey hair is predominantly seen in one devil clan...Grayfia's clan."
Sona adjusted her glasses and gave Rias a stern look, "Silver hair, high-class devil, unknown to the current heirs of the Gremory and Sitri Clans...I don't believe this girl is one of ours. She practically sneered at us as well."
"How can we confirm if she's a high-class devil, though?" Kiba inquired, displaying his curiosity.
Rias expressed her uncertainty, "We cannot be certain... but I have a strong feeling about it."
Tsubaki looked at Sona with a serious expression, "What are your thoughts on her identity, Sona?"
Sona pondered for a moment before responding, "Although it may be premature, I don't believe she is affiliated with the Anti-Satan Faction. There is a possibility that she belongs to the Lucifuge Clan, one of the surviving high-class devils from the Old Satan Faction."
Tsubaki gasped in surprise at Sona's revelation, "The Lucifuge Clan? Are you suggesting that she is part of their lineage?"
Rias frowned, questioning the association between Tiamat and a member of the Old Satan Faction, "But why would Tiamat be involved with someone from the faction? As far as I know, she is on good terms with the Maou."
Sona adjusted her glasses once again, emphasizing the seriousness of the situation, "I can't say for certain, but Tiamat's presence here becomes even more significant if she is indeed associated with a member of the Old Satan Faction."
Rias shifted her focus to Sona's earlier statement, "You mentioned that my brother dispatched someone to monitor the situation here. Did he send Grayfia? Have we received any updates on that?"
Sona responded regretfully, "Unfortunately, among the available options, Sirzechs-sama chose my sister, Serafall. She arrived in the city yesterday. While she is here in case of any major issues, my brother specifically instructed her to stay away from the school to avoid escalating any conflicts."
Rias expressed her surprise, "Leviathan-sama is here? I wasn't aware of that."
Sona nodded, "Indeed... I would have preferred Beelzebub-sama or Grayfia-san. Beelzebub-sama is acquainted with Tiamat-sama, and Grayfia-san could provide valuable insight. However, my sister tends to lack restraint and diplomatic skills. If she were provoked by that Vali girl, she could potentially cause widespread destruction in the city."
"I trust that Sirzechs would prioritize your safety above all else. Having your sister present is likely a precautionary measure," Rias said, trying to reassure herself.
"Nevertheless, we should remain cautious of that devil girl. She seems to harbor animosity towards us and has formed a close bond with Hyoudou-san. I find her presence concerning," Sona asserted firmly.
Rias nodded in agreement, sharing Sona's apprehension. "I share your sentiments. I'm also curious about Hyoudou-san's strength. Did he mention their intentions or why they seek his company?"
Sona sighed, feeling uncertain. "I have no definitive answer regarding his strength, but he claims to be half-dragon and unafraid of going against conventional rules. Based on that, I assume he possesses considerable power, possibly on par with us."
Rias was taken aback by the estimation. "You believe he is that strong?"
"If not, he certainly possesses a remarkable fearlessness," Sona remarked.
"I will request Grayfia to investigate the background of that Vali girl. If she is indeed associated with the Old Satan Faction, we must gather relevant information without delay," Rias stated with determination.
"Please keep me informed if any significant findings arise," Sona responded before parting ways with her peerage.
