Several Days Later:
After following a rigorous training routine, Issei had established a consistent habit of venturing into the Dimensional Gap after school, immersing himself in intensive sessions that lasted for hours.
Occasionally, he even remained there overnight, causing mild concern for his parents, who had grown accustomed to his prolonged absences. However, Issei found solace in the seclusion and liberation offered by this otherworldly realm, fostering a deep affection for its tranquil isolation.
Now embarking on his sixth day of training, Issei dedicated himself to mastering the technique known as the Longinus Smasher, as recommended by Ddraig. After relentless hours of effort, he achieved a breakthrough, successfully unleashing the devastating blast into the distance. Astonishingly, as his attack surged forward, a rift materialized before it, seemingly responding to the immense power released by Issei's technique.
Issei and Ddraig stood in a state of sheer terror, their eyes fixed upon the catastrophic events unfolding before them. The colossal beam of green energy, unleashed by the Longinus Smasher, surged towards the rift with unstoppable force.
Emerging from the rift, a gargantuan red dragon, stretching over a hundred meters in length, soared into view. Its majestic wings, four in number, spanned wide, exuding an aura of awe-inspiring power. Resembling a classic western dragon, its golden eyes blazed with intensity as it executed a nimble barrel roll, skillfully evading the path of the Longinus Smasher's beam.
Issei stood dumbfounded, his mind struggling to process the unbelievable sight before him. The colossal red dragon flew gracefully above him, emitting a resounding, thunderous screech. Great Red circled around him in a mesmerizing pattern, its piercing gaze fixated upon Issei in his formidable juggernaut drive.
Filled with a mix of fear and urgency, Issei turned to Ddraig, his voice laced with gravity. "Ddraig, what on earth are we supposed to do in this situation?" he questioned, his tone reflecting the immense challenge they now faced.
Great Red's commanding presence loomed over Issei, his intense gaze piercing through the young Dragon's soul. Issei was overwhelmed by a mix of fear and awe, finding himself at a loss for words. However, Ddraig stepped in, speaking on behalf of his partner.
"We were merely engaged in training, Great Red. Please forgive Issei for any intrusion," Ddraig respectfully addressed the mighty dragon.
Great Red's piercing gaze shifted towards Ddraig, recognition flickering in his eyes. With a tinge of hostility, he spoke in a gruff tone, "Ddraig, huh? I thought I made it clear last time that we're not comrades simply because we share the same crimson hue. Leave this place unless you're itching for a confrontation. This territory belongs to me!"
To Issei, the dragon's demeanor seemed reminiscent of a rebellious biker gang member, an unexpected contrast for a legendary mythical creature.
"We will heed your words, Great Red," Ddraig announced, relief evident in his voice.
Red's imposing presence lingered as he questioned their presence within the Dimensional Gap. He expressed his disdain for any dubious activities.
"We were engaged in training, Red. I chose this place to ensure the secrecy of my identity as the Red Dragon Emperor," Issei clarified, his voice respectful yet firm.
"Forget the pompous titles like 'Great Red God-Emperor' or 'Dragon of Dragons.' Just call me Red. I'm no divine figure for you youngsters to worship," Red growled, his tone menacing.
"Understood, Red. We mean no disrespect," Issei replied, careful to maintain a respectful tone. "Ddraig and I require this secluded space for our training. I never anticipated encountering you here. I always believed the Dimensional Gap to be boundless."
"Hmph...so you seek refuge here to evade the scrutiny of angels, devils, and gods?" Red inquired, his voice laced with curiosity.
Issei nodded with conviction, his eyes filled with determination. "Absolutely. My primary goal is to safeguard the secrecy of my powers until I have honed them to their fullest potential. When the fated encounter with the white dragon arises, I aim to surpass him and triumph over any adversaries that cross my path. My ultimate aspiration is to forge a life of unrestrained freedom, untethered by the burdens of others' expectations or constraints. And, of course, I wouldn't mind enjoying the company of a few special individuals along the way."
Red's laughter echoed through the Dimensional Gap, his imposing figure now exuding a sense of camaraderie. "Ahahaha! That's quite the unique drive you have, kid. It's refreshing to see someone who doesn't crave dominion or destruction. Your quest is one of personal liberation and invincibility. I must admit, I find your spirit quite appealing. You and I share a similar outlook."
Issei nodded, acknowledging Red's preference for solitude. "I understand your desire for solitude, Red. But I believe that learning from a dragon as formidable as yourself would greatly benefit my training. Your experience and power are unparalleled, and I wish to absorb as much knowledge as I can to become stronger. Besides, having you as a mentor would be an incredible honor."
Red considered Issei's request for a moment, his piercing gaze fixed upon the determined young man. "You've got guts, kid. Alright, if you're truly willing to learn and don't get in my way, I suppose I can tolerate your presence. Just don't expect any special treatment. We'll train together, but you'll have to keep up with me."
A sense of gratitude filled Issei as he bowed respectfully. "Thank you, Red. I won't disappoint you. I'll do my best to keep up and prove my worth."
Red grunted, a hint of approval in his voice. "We'll see, kid. Show me what you're made of, and we might just have ourselves an interesting partnership."
