My favorite thing about the sisters is that you start out really not liking Eleanor. And then she does the heel turn- and she does it because she *loves* her sister. It's so nice to get that moment of emotion and getting an imperial character doing something for a reason that isn't duty, rage, or self-interest.

With regard to the night lords trilogy- it has some unnecessary combat, but a lot of the fights have narrative weight, characterization, and are fun. If you don't love "I Heard Bolter Fire" I'll be very surprised

1/3rd Agree, I have only listened to the first book. You get some pretty fun stuff out of the first novel. Including Kurze lore that isn't just him being a wacky noodle. A characterization of Abbaddon with purpose. And an honest peak into existence as a traitor astartes, and astartes that are starting to fall for Chaos.
