Or it's gonna be pretty simple, because it's already been written, and that any author that would fail to do such a simple thing should probably look for another job. I mean, with things presented as they are, it's not even hard to deduce the sequence of events leading to it.

While I recognize that not every situation is the same. I'm pretty sure that isn't what Lou is thinking. When you're feeling suicidal, speaking from personal experience, it's never about the other people and it's always about yourself. About how the pain you're currently feeling hurts too much and there isn't anything worth living for and how no one would care if you died and how they'd be better off if you were dead, etc. If Lou has a suicide attempt, it's not for Eerie's attention. It's cause living hurts to much and for a brief second, dying seemed to be the perfect solution.
