It's already been addressed a lot here, but I've made this little statement for HF, so I'm sharing it here, as there are new information in the last two sections!

If going for a simplier style akin to the Clem shorts or the Devotia shorts helps you in the short to long term, yeah go for it. In the end if the treatment means you'll get better over the course of the treatment, it also means that you'll be able to return sooner to a higher level of complex comic (artstyle or storywise) sooner. If for that to be able to happen means that the patreons need to go through a period of simplier art, so be it. You come first! Plus even your simplier works look really good. Now that might be personal preference but I am fully down for that and I do want more Clem stories.

Take care of yourself first. If your art doesn't come out as often, or you need to develop a different style that works for you and what you can handle, then take all the time you need. Your well being is more important than meeting a deadline.

You're an incredible creative force, Kite. I think that creative force is more than capable of finding a way to make comics that are faster to make while still being incredibly beautiful. I can't believe people would compare your work to something that's so dramatically different! Like complaining that your cherry pie isn't a pepperoni pizza just because they both come in slices. Your work is great, even when it's just lines and flats because the way you draw is lovely. I would even enjoy your work more if I knew that you didn't have to stress your physical and mental well-being to make it 💖

I know you need to keep patrons happy to make money, but seriously fuck anyone who compares your work to other peoples, especially something like Alfie. Its a completely different style, different narrative technique, about the only similarity between the two is that some people have penises and some have vaginas. Just... Ugh. You do whats best for you. I may only contribute a dollar a month (Im genuinely sorry that it isnt more) but Im not gonna stop supporting you because youre recovering from some serious shit.

Being someone who dealt with kidney failure, I understand that front and how that can be a drain on your body. At the moment, focus on your health before doing more HMGBAPS or other things. I love the work you've done over the past few years and want to see what the future holds. But we want to see you doing good than just working through the pain.

I don't really have much of an opinion on the art change, you're talented enough to have made me make a patreon just to support you and see your stuff a bit earlier than I would have for free, so whatever you end up doing will probably still be really good. But I just gotta say, it fucking blows that the first doctor took a bad situation and made it so much worse with that misdiagnosis and you have my hardcore sympathy on that. Stay strong.

Glad to hear you're seeing some progress in your health. Steady does it - I speak with too much experience. As for HMGBAPS: you do you. You seem to care about the story, so I'm confident you will find a format in which you can take us along for the ride. There's no need to rush, and keep in mind that no steam or glamorous style can replace a good story. Take care, and take the hiatus you need.

Well it'll be less simple than the sister devotia/mother celeste, I want it to keep it have some decent coloring, but without killing myself :'D And yeah, eventually I'll be out of these sick woods, but it's so far in the future I rather plan for the near future and what I can do until then, rather than project on 3 years! I do understand the people who want more sex, but I made many comics that are only about that. They just don't want me to have this one thing I guess :'D And don't worry about it! Whether you contribute one dollar or 100, I'm grateful for your support all the same, and even if you couldn't, I'm glad for your readership! I'm happy you at least know what you're in for healthwise now, and obviously that comes first! I've also been pretty happy with HMGBAPS as-is - it's my main reason for being here - but if you want to go back and improve it, well, that'll just make it better.

I’ll join the chorus and stay do what’s best for your health! I’ve still been enjoying your work and if your doctor is optimistic about your chances and a good recovery, you can always do more detailed stuff when you recover. Just go with what works for you and your situation. You’re talented enough, I’ll bet it’ll work out for you. For a less popular opinion, I don’t mind the gaps between sex scenes in HMGBAPS. I enjoyed more as a comic that had sex in it than as straight porn comic. It’s something I rarely see. Most comics either show sexless relationships all the time or just sex for the sake of sex. Very few will actual show an intimate relationship as it tends actually tends to work. Well, except more drama and Pokémon because it’s a fantasy comic, so not exactly real life... Point being, it’s nice to have a comic that shows an actual intimate relationship dynamic and isn’t straight porn.

The truth is, I did not feel it super rushed, besides that I do not feel that it had to be hyper necessary that of the scenes I love the story you developed, but since I have been doing it for a year now, I am going to smoke everything. that you decide Kite all my support.
