Hosts Josh and Jamie discuss the stoic screen presence of Sicilian legend Henry Silva and his collaborations with the God of the mercilessly bleak and brutal Italian "Years of Lead" Poliziotteschi film Fernando Di Leo with a double feature of THE ITALIAN CONNECTION (1972) and THE BOSS (1973), both of which merge the icy cool mob hitman neo-noir + the gritty American vigilante cop revenge movie with full-on Italian grindhouse levels of vulgarity and violence.

See you all in a week's time where we'll be back with a special guest talking GONIN (1995)  + THE MISSION (1999). Keep it sleazy!

I really enjoyed your analysis of these two great Di Leo films and I had a Henry Silva recommendation for you guys. Cry of a Prostitute (1974) is well worth the watch for Silva enthusiasts of this era and genre, if you haven’t seen it yet. It’s directed by Andrea Bianchi, more well known for Nights of Terror (1981) a/k/a Burial Ground and Strip Nude for Your Killer (1975), so it has a high sleaze factor. It’s always seemed like a bit of a Poliziotteschi / western hybrid and costars the beautiful Barbara Bouchet so it’s quite interesting. Love your show and I hope y’all explore more Italian genre films in the future.
