Amazzzzzing~~~ Regarding your issue, try talk with them privatelly, maybe you can get some kind of agreement to allow you see the code, maybe if both agrees to promote your plugins together they can let you see the code (as long you still keep their code protected). I don't know, I'm not on their team at all, but I think special cooperations are always good, specially if the point is reach more potential customers, which is very interesting for them since they have many paid content.

They will not allow him to see their code, but they have looked at others if they have the time. Their not exactly helpful. Good Luck though.

Of course they will not allow him to see the code, without any return or exchange. Everything is possible if both parts fills their interests: get more sales and recognition. Sure, Visus is already well known, but get known is not the same as need them. Think for example, if Kagedesu releases a patch for a paid plugin of Visus, and that plugin is helpful or improves the game by a lot, that can make people wanting much more purchase the plugin. Also, Kagedesu only needs see the code, not extract and distribute it by any ways, patches would contain just the required lines to make them work together, but no more. That it can be risky at their eyes? Sure, but is more risky stay as an exclusive product with lack of compatibility forever.
