I came to a decision to fully edit my comic Weighting Game and scrub it of any police career plotline details.

I want to tell stories that we can relate to.  In doing so, how can I relate to writing a character realistically if they work as a police officer when I know I would not be happy whatsoever having this comic printed in its previous format.  I would feel disgusted.

The character Frank makes a better firefighter anyway. I regret I didn't come to this decision far sooner.

The comic in its entirety as of this tweet is reuploaded and edited from its previous versions on FA, and on my patreon. if it reaches future publication it will be this version that makes me feel far better.

I am happy with my decision.

below I've attached the comic's new version as a .zip file. FA submission has also been reuploaded.

But but but... Beef Cop.

Shiny Umbreon

It might be just me, but I'm a little confused. Did Frank do something bad as a police officer or something?(Although I agree that Frank as a firefighter is a much more fun concept))

Ritts

I wouldn't write her as doing anything bad. but I don't feel right with the profession I wrote for her given my ability to make a change in this comic.

Ritts

in my opinion, beef firefighter is a BIG glow up :>

Cmg

Not even furry porn artists want anything to do with the cops

I'm just glad you didn't half-ass the transition.

Love this decision!

I hear that Ritts, thank you for that. And firefighter is a GREAT career for Frank!

Kadath

Firefighters are awesome and way underrated anyway!

You are so cool for doing this, i've followed your stuff like foreveeerrr and Frank's always been one of my absolute favorites, even before i was personally more aware on the ISSUE of cops ( acab basicly these days lmao ) so this is just cool, and i get that it reflects a change in your views on certain things as a person, which i can relate to basicly anyway love this, now i hava reason to read it again aswell :03

So, you're disgusted with the police to the point you wrote them out of the comic? Am I getting that right? Or is it more like, police as a career felt so wrong for Frank you'd feel disgusted for not changing it?

Ritts

When I used the word disgusted in my writing above, it was sort of a generalization. I came to a idea that one day I will be at a convention, selling my comic, and someone will say to me "i like your art, I would buy this comic, but she is a cop." I've actually had this kind of comment before but only now i realize I would reply with "yea, i know. i totally understand." the moment I realized this... thats it. that is it. what am I doing? would i even be happy holding the comic knowing i gave her a profession that I don't feel comfortable writing about when my stories try to be realistic? So, she was already changed to a firefighter canonically. I just wanted to now edit the comic retroactively. I should have done this a long time ago though. so to answer both questions, yes and yes.

I really don't blame you Ritts. Police brutality & Racism is international, and it's a reality that drags everyone down. Like I genuinely want to cry because of this fact.

It took me a while to figure out how I feel about this. My brother became a cop recently, so, I've had a lot to think about. But, I'm pretty sure you're not interested in the take of some rando on the internet, so I'll get to the point. I don't blame you for your opinion and will continue to support you and the comic.
