DAY OFF! Riding into Charleston, SC where I believe we'll post up at a hotel near the harbor. Maybe take a dip. We'll see.

It was another level last night in Tampa. We played at a sorta stuffy old theater that worried me as it felt a little TOO nice in there. I was feeling a little nauseous in the afternoon... maybe one of the best breakfast sandwiches i've ever had wasn't sitting well with me. I don't know. I had that feeling of uh-oh... is something coming? am I gonna start puking? I hate that feeling.  Part of it is something real happening in my stomach and part of its happening in my head, as I'm imagining the implications to the evening...  But as soon as I hit the stage, it passed and I was off.

Shout out to the breakfast place just next to the stage door. It really was a special breakfast sandwhich and it causes no real harm.

Anyway, I hit the stage and the room lit up. It was packed; our biggest numbers so far this room (i guess it pays to stay out of Florida for 12 years)

Really, everyone was on board... almost... I quickly spotted a couple near the front who were staring me down with frowns. I kept checking in with them and noticed they weren't laughing or really reacting... Then during a moment where I get the audience to cheer for something inane and un-cheerworthy I saw the woman look around like "what the fuck is happening?"  I just knew they were in the wrong place. When we came out for the second half they were GONE!  I want to know everything about them. How did this happen?  Did they win free tickets?

To my delight, the crowd was just as active and engaged in the music set. We were on fire., we made a few cuts in the set, which works to keep things moving and to give me some space to be loose and talk more - goof with VIc and not wear out the audience (and ourselves) you want them leaving wanting more, right?

We all had a nice, fun hang on the bus after the show  Lots of satisfied relief, ending a 4 day run on a high note, with lots of shows left, but we're starting to make a dent.  Got some good sleep, as the bus didn't leave until 4am - so some stationary sleeping for a good chunk.

See you Monday, Richmond!
