Hi Everyone!

I know I promised a chapter earlier this week. The thing is, I have been attempting to edit part 29 since Tuesday. Even though I have sat down and attempted to edit it, I have barely been able to make any progress on it. And this isn't because it is an overly hard chapter to edit. You see, I am mildly burnt out.

Frankly, my overly optimistic self thought I would be better by today and be able to edit but I haven't been able to. This is entirely due to my brain not wanting to touch the chapter which is definitely a sign of burnout. (I've also been experiencing headaches which is another one.)

Usually, I tend to prevent burnout pretty well by giving myself lots of mental breaks each week and along with time between editing chapters. Before these last 7 months (when I kept getting sick) I was one of the most regularly posting writers I knew so this burnout is frankly, surprising for me and I'm not going to take it lightly. Unfortunately, this means that I need to take a short break for my mental and physical health.

But I still owe you all a chapter. So, here is what I am going to do: I'll get you part 29 next week by Friday. I have been able to make some progress on it (though it was painful to do so) so I believe I can do it, it will just take me a bit longer than normal. After the chapter goes up, I will pause Patreon for a month — returning around June 21st.

When I come back I'll prepare an epub of Volume 1 of WIAFTTTTA just for you guys, to thank you all for sticking with me (I would send it out with this post but it will take me time to prepare it and I'd rather spend that time working on the next chapter that I owe you all).

Thank you for your patience and understanding. And know that I will always return, even if it takes me a little longer. After all, I am the same author who wrote Tome of Stealth, paused it to take some maternity leave, and came back two years later to finish book 1 (not that I think I'll need more than a month to recover from this).

I want you to know that you are all the best Patreons I could ever ask for! Thank you so much for supporting me and for your kind words and thoughts. You are awesome!

Take your time and take care of yourself. It’s nice to see a creator recognize the signs and have a structured plan to deal with burnout rather than having to have their community shout at them to finally take a break. Happy to wait for part 29.
