I wanted to get you all a heads up!

Patreon told creators on the platform that they are now required by law to start adding sales tax/VAT/GST to pledges. I am not all completely sure how this will be going but more information will be coming soon as time goes. I will be learning more about it as well!

Keep an eye out for this email, should be sent out on June 1st and the sale taxes will be starting July 1st I believe.

I thought this had already gone through everywhere, but apparently not! Most Europeans will already have been seeing VAT added to their Patreon receipts. I started paying 25% VAT on all my pledges starting March 2nd, 2018. (I double checked, my Feb receipt that year did not have VAT added yet.) 2022-08-31 13:39:07 Upon further spelunking in the email archives, I was mistaken. It was just that Patreon for a while sent both receipts and separate “VAT Invoice” documents. Which made me lose track of them. The earliest “VAT Invoice” I have been able to find is from October 2017. So safe to say we have been at this for a while. Still going to continue sending that support though! &lt;3
