So ... someone brought up an idea that I initially shot down, but I am also curious to see if this is something anyone might be interested in doing instead of Tokens/Pay Per Story.

I do NOT know the price of this plan yet, but this plan is a READ ONLINE ONLY option which will allow you to read any/all stories online for $X/month. NO DOWNLOAD OPTIONS. This plan will also include the CUSTOM stories. (PS: I might make those available for DL soon with the default settings.)

So, you just pay $x/month and read as much as you want online, and if you want to DL the story, you can pay extra. I might carve off 1 or 2 Tokens per DL for this plan if you're a member of it. Just know that I don't always release new stories every ~4 weeks. I try to, but don't always. That's why I always preferred to charge people PER STORY as opposed to PER MONTH.

Also, if you already have a ton of Tokens (like I know some of you do), and you prefer this option, I can use your current Tokens to pay for this plan. And if you have already purchased stories, they will still be listed as "Available For Download" on your list.

If people want/like this, I will have to figure out better ways to lock up my stories to keep them from being downloaded. It's not possible to stop everyone, which is why as of right now I'm not a huge fan of this idea.

But if it will get me more fans ... I may consider it.

I like the current system and would stick with it so long as it remains an option. Other sites do use this system (Expansion Fan Comics and associated sites, for instance), but they have a stable of authors (and illustrators) and release new content on a regular basis. (Plus they allow you to download everything released to that point for just one month's membership.)

Downloading everything for 1 month's membership = horrible business model. Im open to the idea of letting all my stories be read online (and am working on a new method of 'read online'), but not DL. That's a rip off to me (the creator) and you (someone who has already bought everything and paid full price for it).
