So I haven’t read the manga past the kidnapping of explodesalot, but it seems like a safe assumption that every single assessment would have a hidden component to it similar to how the entrance exam had one. UA is a very prestigious school, and they would not maintain their reputation if they just produced heroes with strong powers, they probably vet them on behaviour as well. He know that Aizawa dropped an entire class, so it’s not unreasonable that someone who constantly shows unheroic tendencies would be dropped if trying to help them correct their issues didn’t work. They would also likely add them to a watch list of people who have some level of training and have a decent chance to go villain.

Kinda hoping that Denkifer has a chance to lecture a subdued Monomania about trust, how scocieties only fiction from trust, how heroes are supported and built upon trust, and how villains are villains not because of their crimes, but because they break the trust the public holds. There is a reason many interpretations of hell have treachery as the worst sin after all.

The problem with that is that Monoma is the type of person to rationalize his own behavior no matter what. He sees himself as a victim of society, but fails to consider how his own actions alienate those around him, and when it DOES happen, he instantly jumps to making assumptions that ‘they would do the exact same thing’, even when blatantly untrue, so better to strike first and make no attempts to apologize later.
