"The Anteater and the Tree" (Collaboration with The Reddot) (Patreon)

When I reached out to Kim Winder for this #CollaborationCelebration, we settled on an appropriately rude idea for a comic. However, when her husband's condition worsened after contracting Covid19, she set aside just about everything.

Cut to yesterday morning. I get a message from Mr. Hubs himself. They are big PBF fans, and he wants to give her a valentine since he could not be with her in person. Moved by the message, I told him that I would be happy to help. I told him that Kim and I were actually working on something that never got finished. We soon hatched the idea to finish it ourselves. 

He texted me photos of notes to his wife. Adding my own art, I bridged them with the finished assets that Kim had created. We had planned to coordinate a posting so that he could alert her to it, but he eventually went silent. After a while, I went ahead and posted to twitter with a message to Kim. I've since learned he fell asleep hard, and that he spent most of his day's energy texting with me. 

I'm quite proud we where able to surprise her.
