The “Pre-first” PBF Comic (from the year 2000) (Patreon)

20 years ago, after losing my stride as a journalist at the Daily Orange (the student-run paper at Syracuse University), i turned my attention to the comics page. It was overrun with comics about “crazy” party culture and raunchy humor. My friend Dan Reitz and i launched a stealthy plan: He would write a character complaining about being on the comics page, but a decoy comic called “SU Life” would disturb his platform. It established the idea of “colliding” styles, ideas and collaborators- a technique for PBF creation which continues to this day.
