What beautiful artwork! I always was facinated with this game series. The art in the game always stood out as something special compared to other fighting games. When I was a teenager and owned the Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo I would buy gaming magazines like GameFan or EGM and find SNK advertisements for the Neo Geo AES Home Console in there and dream about owning one someday because of games like Samurai Shodown. I wasn't able to afford an AES system back in the day so the first exposure I had playing Samurai Shodown here in the US was on a 3DO. It wasn't a very good conversion, but it still impressed me with the animations, large sprites, and the sprite scaling zooming effects. I am glad to see Samurai Shodown make a comeback in recent years. I own the Samurai Shodown Collection on Steam and was thinking about getting Samurai Shodown 2019 version that has updated rollback netcode recently! I saw recently that Samarai Shodown RPG finally got an English translation patch this year. That was another game I always dreamed of playing. I was thinking about buying either the Neo Geo CD or Playstation version of Shinsetsu Samurai Spirits Bushidō Retsuden game and apply the patch. Have you played and enjoyed any of the Samurai Shodown games SuperSiSi? If so what is some of your favorites in the series?
