Maybe this is something you never hear about before! Namco asked their designer Shigeki Toyama to make something that other company could not copy. He create a huge attraction for 28 players in a round room with a round screen and called it Galaxian 3. This was made for a special show in Osaka called Expo '90 国際花と緑の博覧会. The players would go inside and sit around the room and each have a laser gun to fire at the screen. This first version for the Expo '90 uses a lot more real 3D graphics compared to the arcade version that will come later, but still use Laserdisc technology to show the moving background with real 3D sprite to shoot on top. The players must work together to shoot the enemy ships in a big sound experience! The whole round seat area would move up and down and around shaking and jumping with the action! Exciting!

I must tell you my feeling.. Namco's 3D work was really amazing for 1990!! 😱😱

I have seen this game and will show you the actual thing in Part Two.

They have some amazing game technology at this time!

This huge game was moved after Expo '90 to the Namco own theme park Wonder Eggs in Tokyo when it was first opened in 1992. In 2000 the the park was closed and this special first version of Galaxian 3 was taken apart forever.. 😰
