Did you know Falcom started as Japan’s first ever Apple reseller? It was a shop that was created only to sell Apple PC in the country. It was set up by Masayuki Kato in 1981. It was a popular place for the PC nerd and lot of people would go there for chat and coffee! ☕️ Who would shop here? Yuzo Koshiro who made the Street of Rage/Bare Knuckle music! He would also make music for Falcom early games. ❤️

He had a customer called Yoshio Kiya who was interested in programming games on PC-88. He became friends with Kato-San and they create together their first games for sale.. they were simple things like golf and some eroge game. In 1984 they make Dragon Slayer RPG and is big success. This was the beginning of Nihon Falcom who kept the same name as Masahiro Kata’s Apple PC shop.
