Hi guys and gals, this post offers you a collection of news about the next full version of Holiday Island (0.1.8 beta) and the smaller updates towards it. 

There will be smaller, more frequent content updates, called content addons. They will include bug fixes and new content as well.
The change log below is based on the beta 0.1.7.0 release.

The next release is 0.1.8.0 beta which will be a new full update!
It will include a lot of new features and some bug fixes.

The update from 0.1.7.0 to 0.1.8.0 has 570 new renders, videos and sound files right now!  

New features and content

  • Lacey gets a beach pose scene --> will be postponed to 0.1.8.1
  • The user interface (UI) gets a new look and a lot of improvements, freeing up a lot of space in the process --> will be part of 0.1.8.0 (this will be ongoing until 0.2.0) 
  • Jennifer's transformation story will be concluded (and it will include an animated happy ending)  --> will be part of 0.1.8.0  
  • Mercedes' quest where you can visit her in her room will be finished --> will be part of 0.1.8.0 
  • Delizia gets an extended workout weight lifting scene --> will be part of 0.1.8.0 
  • Delizia gets a quest to help her get strong enough to train weight lifting --> will be part of 0.1.8.0 
  • Lacey gets an extended pool play scene --> will be part of 0.1.8.0
  • Yumiko gets an arrival scene, a new sexting image and a new dream image --> will be part of 0.1.8.0  
  • Ivy gets all the reception uniform renders  --> will be part of 0.1.8.0
  • Lacey gets the pool jump in and climb out images --> will be part of 0.1.8.0
  • Lacey gets all the reception uniform renders --> will be part of 0.1.8.0 
  • Delizia gets all the reception uniform renders --> will be part of 0.1.8.0  
  • Mercedes gets a posing scene --> will be part of 0.1.8.0
  • Mercedes gets a nude shower scene --> will be part of 0.1.8.0
  • Lacey gets a short even in the hotel corridor --> will be part of 0.1.8.0
  • Heather gets two pool distraction events --> will be part of 0.1.8.0 
  • Brenda gets a beach yoga event and the achievement --> will be part of 0.1.8.0  
  • Delizia gets a beach yoga event and the achievement --> will be part of 0.1.8.0 
  • Desire gets a beach yoga event and the achievement --> will be part of 0.1.8.0 
  • Amy gets a beach yoga event and the achievement --> will be part of 0.1.8.0

  • The first binocular where you can watch the girls doing beach yoga will be added --> will be part of 0.1.8.0
  • Desire gets one new event in the gym shower --> is part of 0.1.7.1  
  • Eva gets two new event in the gym shower --> is part of 0.1.7.1  
  • Aly gets one new event in the gym shower --> is part of 0.1.7.1  
  • Renée gets the additional reception images with possibility for all intimate actions --> is part of 0.1.7.1   
  • Jessica gets two pool distraction events --> is part of 0.1.7.1  
  • Amy gets one pool distraction event --> is part of 0.1.7.1  

Minor improvements and changes 

  • Amy's base character renders are in double resolution and webp format now --> will be part of 0.1.8.0  
  • Delizia gets two new dream images --> will be part of 0.1.8.0   
  • Faye gets the walk on the beach scene with option to take a closer look in webp format --> will be part of 0.1.8.0 
  • Jennifer gets two context realted sexting images and one new dream image --> will be part of 0.1.8.0 
  • The girls' lust will be auto reduced at night on certain conditions --> will be part of 0.1.8.0  
  • You can now spike teh girls' drink with a "purple tablet" to reduce lust --> will be part of 0.1.8.0   
  • All MC shower scenes have been replaced by a function call. "Blue pill" effect is shown now and MC is using the shower of the correct room (new/old player room) --> will be part of 0.1.8.0  
  • Weight training with Jennifer will reduce endurance and add "smell" effect --> will be part of 0.1.8.0  
  • Delizia gets girl specific "talk about her" chat lines --> will be part of 0.1.8.0  
  • Sexting images now support ".jpg" and ".webp" image format --> will be part of 0.1.8.0
  • You will see the girl's body type now on the phone when you know bra, waist, hips and weight  --> will be part of 0.1.8.0  
  • Miriam gets one dream image and two new phone images --> is part of 0.1.7.1  
  • Stink/smelly player attribute has been added. You'll have to take a shower every now and then to get rid of it.  --> is part of 0.1.7.1  
  • Several image transitions with "empty screens" in between have been fixed --> will be part of 0.1.7.1  
  • A number of language and spelling errors have been fixed --> is part of 0.1.7.1   
  • High tech binoculars will be available in the shopping app --> is part of 0.1.7.1  

Bug fixes 

  • Scheduling/calendar has been changed to support up to 2 am. Also "change of day" for calendar has been changed to 2 am. This will avoid problems with dates at 1 am --> will be fixed with 0.1.8.0  
  • Nightbar "last call" scene was shown with wrong bartender or could result in a crash when you did it on day 1--> will be fixed with 0.1.8.0  
  • In certain cicumstances during the Miriam and Mercedes poster scene, the recpetionist overlay image was still shown --> will be fixed with 0.1.8.0  
  • There was a possible endless loop when you arrive at the island (it occurs only very rarely) --> will be fixed with 0.1.8.0 
  • The other shower scene with Faye should also count to get the shower symbol --> will be fixed with 0.1.8.0 
  • There is still abug when Aly is the plane girl and another girl arrives on the island early. --> will be fixed with 0.1.8.0 (or you can use the quick fix from the post where you get 0.1.7.2, see link below)
  • The fix for the memory allocation error has been moved from "chaning locations" to "change of day" to avoid lags when changing locations. --> fixed with 0.1.7.2  
  • An image was for the player in the gym shower, leading to a crash. Two other images had teh wrong name. --> fixed with 0.1.7.2  
  • One of Renee's achievements has disappeared. She Used to have 3 Hot Shots achievements: was an accident, no idea how the line of code got deleted. wasn't fixed when you upgraded a game from 0.1.7.0 --> fixed with 0.1.7.2 
  • Random out of memory errors. Since I'm unable to reproduce the problem, I've made an attempt to reduce the probability. First reports are saying that it helps --> included in 0.1.7.1 
  • Playing hotshots when teh girl's lust is 99 or 100 could result in a crash: File "game/loc_nightbar.rpy", line 5339, in get_random_text IndexError: list index out of range --> fixed with 0.1.7.1  
  • When visiting Heather in her room,  game crashes with: could not find image. (u'images/locations/loc_girls_room1_door2.webp') --> fixed with 0.1.7.1    
  • Locations for girls currently not on the island were still showing on watch and phone --> fixed with 0.1.7.1  
  • Masseuse could be in thw spa before her arrival scene --> fixed with 0.1.7.1 
  • When reception shift changes on day 1 or 2, error: File "game/script.rpy", line 767, in  IndexError: list index out of range could occur --> fixed with 0.1.7.1 
  • After Alice pole dance for you and the end is right when the last call scene starts, you got a crash: "could not find image. (u'scenes/Ivy/Ivy_nightbar_poledance4.jpg')" --> fixed with 0.1.7.1 
  • One of Renee's achievements has disappeared. She Used to have 3 Hot Shots achievements: was an accident, no idea how the line of code got deleted --> fixed with 0.1.7.1 
  • When Aly is the plane girl, other arrival scenes on day 0 or 1 will crash with a missing image (you should be able to use ignore to continue) -->  fixed with 0.1.7.1

Is the update going to break save games?:  
0.1.7.1 beta --> Save games from 0.0.8 and later can still be used. Earlier saves are no longer supported.
0.1.7.2 beta --> same as for 0.1.7.1 beta
0.1.8.0 beta --> same as for 0.1.7.1 beta

Yvette is great and she has the most content already. She always does well in the polls, but there are a lot of girls that could use additional content. Not to mention, there are still a lot of quests still open that will require new content. We need to figure out how to clone Darkhound and add more hours to the day.

You're welcome. I haven't really made a lot of plans on what to include in 0.1.8 There is some stuff waiting and a lot of quests are still unfinished. Nothing of the open stuff is for Yvette though.

It's not a typo :) I was only waiting a bit longer to see if more bugs would show up. But since everything is more or less quiet by now, you can expect 0.1.7.1 tomorrow or friday.

You need some luck. If the girl in question is in the gym, you go to teh shower and she forgot to hang out the sign, the scene will start.

How do I access the showers at the gym ? the scene with Faye don't unlock the gym shower :(

You also have to do the scene with Faye where she is doing pull ups topless and after the sauna or shower scene (win or lose the bet) it should be unlocked. For me it took some time till the bet scene has triggered.

1.8 seems to be coming along nicely. Since Lacey seems to be the star of it, can we get her to be the icon for starting the game? If not Lacey, perhaps Mercedes?

I updated to Windows 10, but I'm still having a problem with the memory leak. I know you stopped putting in the code "renpy.free_memory()" for every location change and just do it at 7am. However, my game seems to crash when there is a lot of animations or a lot of images. Can the code be entered again before a big scene? For instance, before Hotshots starts, before the Hot Scene starts at the end, Heather's Posing at the Pool, her Post-Hotshots Scene in her room, and about three times during Yvette's Dinner seem to cause my game to crash. I guess that is a lot of coding, but it wouldn't slow things down much, and it would stop my game fom crashing. Instead, you might just have the code entered an extra time when the bar opens. Maybe you'll find out what is causing the problem and fix it. Good luck.

Don't put your hopes up. I don't think there is anything I can do to fix it. It's with a high probability either a renpy problem or a general python problem with webp images. Maybe it just goes away with a new renpy or python version. It looks like only slow PCs with low memory configuration are affected. Sorry, but I won't put something that creates lags in the game all over the place. Especially not since it's not sure that it will really fix anything. If it helps, I could put it back after every location change, but make this optional. So you can switch it on in the preferences if you need it. Let me know if you would like to have this.

On the phone, on the screen where we see how often we've worked out, our HI favor, charm points, and number of times we can masturbate in a day, can you add the number of empty vials we have? If you can do it, there's also room on that same page to include the number of high, low, enhanced and high-enhanced vials we have, too. It might also be helpful to include the number of empty vials info on the "Which girl do you want to masturbate to?" screen. It doesn't have to be obtrusive. It could be a mouseover thing if you like.

I see that all Faye gym shower scenes are going to unlock the gym shower. However, I think that the game currently requires that the PC have unlocked his new room in order to get the gym shower unlocked. Will this be changed with 1.8?

The new player room is not checked or related to the gym shower being unlocked. As far as I remember, it never was. Wonderful! Just a question.. Yumiko arrival and Aly arrival after you met her on the plane, scenes like that. Any way "vets" can unlock them on their main play progress, if you know what I mean?

Yumiko arrival will auto trigger creating a slight inconsistency, but you will get the scene on an existing save. Aly plane arrival is not possible without using the console or starting a new game.

I have now tried several times to unlock the sex scene with Faye, the hint simply says "high lust". Is there something I've missed? She's using the skimpy outfit and all the stats, except for anger, is filled up. What am I missing?
