Hi guys and gals, this post offers you a collection of news about the next full version of Holiday Island (0.1.7 beta) and the smaller updates towards it. 

There will be smaller, more frequent content updates, called content addons. They will include bug fixes and new content as well.
The change log below is based on the beta 0.1.6.0 release.

The next release is 0.1.7.0 beta which will be a full update!
It includes mainly new features but some bug fixes as well.

The update from 0.1.6.2 to 0.1.7.0 has 381 new renders, videos and sound files right now! 

New features and content

  • Aly gets a second arrival scene which is used when she's the "plane girl" --> will be part of 0.1.7.0
  • Jessica gets the Hotshots hot scene --> will be part of 0.1.7.0
  • Mercedes will get a scene at the night bar  --> will be part of 0.1.7.0
  • Renée gets a short event where she knocks on your door in the evening/night, wearing only her sexy sleepwear --> will be part of 0.1.7.0 
  • Miriam will get a scene at the beach and a new location at the beach will be introduced (the scene has 7 achievements and several quests and sub quests) --> will be part of 0.1.7.0 
  • Desire gets an extended scene when you visit her at night --> will be part of 0.1.7.0
  • Jessica gets an extended pool play scene in webp format  (4 achievements) --> will be part of 0.1.7.0
  • Desire gets an extended pool play scene  in webp format (4 achievements) --> will be part of 0.1.7.0
  • Jessica gets the Hotshots  scene in the night bar --> will be part of 0.1.7.0  
  • Miriam and Mercedes get a sexy arrival scene --> will be part of 0.1.7.0 
  • Miriam and Mercedes,  two new special character, will be introduced --> will be part of 0.1.7.0

  • Controls for the posing even have been improved, together with the possibility to use higher resolution images --> part of 0.1.6.1 
  • Jessica gets the "jump into the pool" renders --> part of 0.1.6.1
  • Jessica gets the "visit her in her room" renders --> part of 0.1.6.1 

Minor improvements and changes

  • "Center stabilisation" for interactive sex when zooming in/out has been improved (works perfectly now) --> will be part of 0.1.7.0  
  • New sound effects and music have been added --> will be part of 0.1.7.0  
  • Possibility to use sub quests has been added  --> will be part of 0.1.7.0  
  • You'll be able to see the number of girls in each area now  --> will be part of 0.1.7.0  
  • Max favor from girls is now 200 instead of 100 --> will be part of 0.1.7.0  
  • You will be able to trade in "eh sperm samples" at the doctor --> will be part of 0.1.7.0   
  • The "cyan pill" will be introduced (will help with erection problems) --> will be part of 0.1.7.0  
  • Fixed some more spelling and grammar errors in different places --> will be part of 0.1.7.0  
  • Faye's yoga scene got two new images and some text and image transistion improvements --> will be part of 0.1.7.0  
  • When you arrive on the island, only the minimum required girls are already there. The others will arrive later on day 1 and on day 2. This will give you between 2 and 4 arrival scenes in the beginning --> will be part of 0.1.7.0  
  • The first visit with the doctor has been cleaned up and text has been improved --> will be part of 0.1.7.0  
  • You will be able to save the game any time during the intro now as well --> will be part of 0.1.7.0  
  • You will be able to hide girl's not on the island on your phone's character overview screen --> will be part of 0.1.7.0  
  • Yvette will get two new context related sexting images (in her blue nightwear) --> part of 0.1.6.1
  • A new simple animation sequence function will be added. It will support the display of animations with a static background. It will be used for the first time in Heather's hot shots scene --> part of 0.1.6.1   

Bug fixes

  • Yvette returning late (after 7pm)  from her sister could result in not being able to get the appointment to continue the quest --> will be fixed with 0.1.7.0 
  • Posing scene: Crash with "NameError: name 'l_camera_zoom' is not defined"  --> will be fixed with 0.1.7.0
  • Right mouse button sometimes not working --> will be fixed with 0.1.7.0
  • Random crashes with "Out of memory". Probably either a memory leak, or too high settings for caches. Haven't been able to reproduce it --> no fix yet (you could try changing the renpy renderer to directx or software - open the game and use shift + g, change the renderer, press "quit" and restart the game)
    If you invite Heather to the bar from her room and then play Hotshots,  you can't visit her room an hour later since she's not in the list  again --> fixed with 0.1.6.2 
  • Yvette's dinner appointment didn't count as a "sex" action --> fixed with 0.1.6.2 
  • Last picture of the "guess who" mini game could not be send --> fixed with 0.1.6.2 
  • Some errors in the save game updater that prevented very old save games from loading  --> fixed with 0.1.6.2 
  • Crash with "NameError: name 'jessica' is not defined" when starting a new game --> fixed with 0.1.6.2 
  • AttributeError: 'cl_character' object has no attribute 'room_type' happens during the update phase of a save game --> will be fixed with 0.1.6.2
  • Ambient noises/sound sometimes wasn't stopped when you had an appointment --> fixed with 0.1.6.1 
  • Crash could occur when one of the new animations sequences with the controls is started. camera was not reset to index 0 --> fixed with 0.1.6.1 
  • When the player get's drunk during hotshots, he isn't drunk after the game --> fixed with 0.1.6.1 
  • After Yvette's hotshot "hot scene", player's and Yvette's lust and endurance weren't lowered --> fixed with 0.1.6.1 
  • Yvette's hotshots "hot scene" when MC is completely undressed:  could not find image. (u'scenes/Yvette/nightbar/Yvette_nightbar_hs4_heat14a.webp')  --> fixed with 0.1.6.1
  • When Yumiko sends you a guess who image:  Couldn't find file 'appointments/Amy/Amy_dinner9_face.jpg' crash could occur --> fixed with 0.1.6.1 
  • If you play HotShots against Aly and she's wearing her special outfit already, the game stats are not reset and the game directly ends --> fixed with 0.1.6.1 
  • Amy surprise visit in her room achievement had the wrong preview image --> fixed with 0.1.6.1 
  • Some achievements where you visited the girl's room where not displayed correctly --> fixed with 0.1.6.1 

Is the update going to break save games?:  
0.1.6.1 beta --> Save games from 0.0.8 and later can still be used. Earlier saves are no longer supported.
0.1.6.2 beta --> same as for 0.1.6.1 beta
0.1.7.0 beta --> same as for 0.1.6.1 beta

To help make progress on getting to 2.0, a goal for 1.7 might be to get the 3rd tier girls (Brenda, Renee, Lacey, Delizia) more achievements so they get caught up to the other girls. However, work on new content for the top tier girls can't be sacrificed, since this is what brings in the money from the top tier patrons. Therefore, here are some suggested projects for this or future updates which increase achievements for few renders. 1) For only a few renders per girl, each girl can get all 4 categories for sexting with at least 1 pic in each category. 2) For 1 render per girl, each girl could get a visit, just out of the shower and get 1 achievement each. 3) Likewise, each girl could get a shower scene (maybe even in the gym) for 4 renders per girl which would yield 2 achievements each. 4) Distractions at the pool or beach with 3 scenes per girl would give each girl 3 achievements for 3-4 renders per scene per girl. 5) Hot Shots for each girl would yield 3 achievements each for Delizia and Lacey, but this would be a long term goal, since higher tier girls will be 1st on the list. 6) Renee giving an erotic massage could yield many achievements for her: titjob, handjob, footjob, blowjob. 7) Lacey getting the sperm conjestion scenes would yield 2 for her. 8) Each girl needs the intimate actions at reception, and Lacey needs the doctor intimate actions, but this might be more long term since since it will take 10 renders per girl (15 for Lacey) and yields no new achievements (plus Ivy should be done 1st, even though she is difficult because of her height). 9) An Easter Egg for each girl would be cool, but I have no idea what form that would take or how much work it would be. Your feedback would be appreciated to help me with any more suggestions I come up with.

Here is some new stuff from the update which I love. Faye's restaurant dress is fixed! The hide the left panel is a real game changer. Terrific! 12 saves per page is a great savings for me since I was up to 116 pages. Groping added to the special achievements. Getting so many poses is hard but worth it. Being able to schedule meetings with Aly wherever she is really helps on her quests. Moving the text "Which girl do you want to masturbate to" into the selection box is a great idea. Having the number of achievements completed listed for the girls before you remove them from the island is also good. More Yumiko days was so necessary, I don't know how we lived without it.

incredible work! Just one thing, When i try to get Ivy to show her real strength while doing weight lifting, it just doesn't work. I have done the quest with learning how to adjust the weights and i have tried it multiple times but I just can't get the scene.

Here's a weird idea that is a lot of work, but I have no idea how much benefit it would be. Can you take the Date and time area and the Save/Load area and place them to the top right of the screen? The mouseover area could be moved to the top left area or stay where it is but hidden umtil needed. This would mean that all the necessary buttons are on the right side, while all the things we don't need all of the time would be on the left/hideable side. We could play the game with the left side hidden until needed. As it is now, the clock is so necessary, we can't play it with the left side always hidden. Take a look and see if it is even possible.

There will already the posing and something else I'm working on right now. So there is a hot scene with a mini quest already. A second scene will follow in the next update.

Would it be possible to add Yumiko, Joy and Jennifer to the choice of who is hottest at Yumiko's last call? Maybe don't include Yumiko because it might be insulting. Possibly, after you say who is your least favorite, Yumiko could say, "Out of me, Jennifer and Joy, who is your favorite?" That girl would get +1 attarctiveness, but if you don't say Yumiko, her love/affection gets -10. Then if you said Joy, she says, "I guess Joy is really attractive, thank you for being honest." Then she gets +5 Love/Affection. This would allow us to make the special girls 10's without cheating.

When you visit a girl in her room, and she offers to give you a 360 degree pose, she turns around and back, not 360. Can you flip pose 2 and make it also pose 4, so that she turns all the way around?

In the game menu click on "about" to see the game version. Why do you think there are new scenes for Jennifer? There aren't any as you can see from the change log in the development news.

They are new, but can't be used yet (my mistake). Jessica needs the pool swim or pool play actions first. Then you can see her jump in and climb out with these renders.

I think we should get a new girl for the window_icon each update. This would allow us to tell the versions apart on the taskbar. For 1.7, how about Faye?

Could a choice be added to playing poker with Jennifer, Yumiko and Joy? There is no reason to gain favor with the three special girls, but I like to do it. Could Joy offer a choice for HI favor and personal favor? I'd like to get her up to 100 favor like all the rest of the girls even if it doesn't mean anything. Also, could Jennifer and Yumiko offer a choice between personal favor and telling us one of their measurements? This way we could unlock the measurements in the phone. Right now there is no way to do it without cheating.

When the other plane girls are arriving on the island, maybe they could send you a sext of their stripping scene from the plane with "Can't wait to see you!" as the message. This would then unlock a dream image for the other 3 girls. Alternately, the girls could send you the sext much later, with the text, "I got a bit naughty on the plane ride here." This would also add an achievement for Brenda & Lacey with minimal work.

I don't want to use the same images for everyone. But I could create a sexting for some of the sexy arrival scenes. A lot are topless or at least almost topless. This would also give dream images for the girls who arrive on day 1 or 2. I've changed that so that you have between 2 and 4 arrival scenes very early.

Elsewhere you talked about having a sext sent after a girl does something with a different outfit. I like what you did for Yvette with her blue nightie. I think there should be more of those shots. It's too much work for regular looking outfits. I can't use the images directly. I have to merge them into jpgs with the background and create sexting texts and add the "send sexting" in the code. It's cool for sexy/special stuff, but not worth it for regualt outfits imo.

If not, we are missing Heather's hot scene as we can only undress her ( assuming a hot scene is something like Amy boobies play, Aly's BJ etc ).

I agree that the description is confusing. The "hot scene" is what comes after the heat is high. In Heather's case, she invites you to her room, so nothing really happens in the bar. There you get the posing + the blow scene. There is no achievement for a hotshots "hot scene" for Heather. Maybe I change that in a future release and have her strike some sexy poses in the bar as the "hot scene", before she invites the MC to her room. This wouldn't be too much work and make it more consistent with the other girls.

For the Sperm Congestion Scene, Lacey has to be next since she is the only Doctor who doesn't have that scene. Maybe she & Delizia & Brenda should also have a lap dance part to their scene (like Brenda does during Hot Shots) since their butts are so great. Maybe Lacey could use her abs like Amy does on the beach, just to mix it up. Since Natasha is studying to be a nurse, could you add a Sperm Congestion Scene for her? Say, with a meeting in her room? The PC could say, "This is kind of embarrassing, Natasha. I have sperm congestion, and I don't want to go to the doctor about it. Could you help me out with it?" She says that she'd like to, but doesn't have any pills. If the PC has 2 green pills, she poses and jacks him off on her naked breasts.

All good ideas. But my problem is not a lack of ideas on my part. I have a ton of my own ideas. The problem is lack of time to put them all (or even a fraction of them) into the game. In addition the game is not only about sex scenes. Creating the sex scenes for me is the more boring part of the game creation. Story writing and creating a nice new render, or introducing a new game element is much more fun.

I think that I suggested this before, but it might not be possible: have the player fill out the answers for Hot Shots, so that favorite movie, etc. would match up with the player's actual favorites. I understand if that can't be done, but there should be some way that Yumiko has the personal information for everyone on the island. Perhaps Joy could have him answer the questions in the form he signs, or maybe the nurse could ask the PC to fill out the form when he arrives. Later, in the restaurant, he could overhear the girls talking about answering personal questions and wondering what it is all about.

Two things: 1) Can there be some kind of alert in the masturbation window to tell us how many empty vials we have? It doesn't happen often but when you only have so many times to jack off, you want to get paid for it, which doesn't happen if you can't collect the sample. 2) I don't think you can fix this, but when you save a game under a file name like "Yvette Arrival 1," then go back to save under another file like "New Game," the "New Game" file changes its name to "Yvette Arrival 1" when you right click. Since I like to categorize my saves, it would be better if it came up with the former name of the file, then a right click would change the name to the last file name used, but enter would allow you to overwrite the file with the same name you always use for that file. No biggie if you can't make this change.

"Lacey gets the doctor images" "Desire gets an extended scene when you visit her at night" I love it when the less popular characters get updates. One thing on my wish list is to be able to interact with Desire at the pool: The "play" feature would has some slightly different possibilities with both the blue bikini and the sling bikini. Neither of them look like they would last long if she were to dive into the pool.

Desire's sling or skimpy bikini is too similar to the skimpy bikini swimsuit Renee has. Maybe we could buy her a new one like we did with Amy, I'm sure she would be most grateful!

Looks like it will be time to re-start the game from the beginning with the release of 0.1.7.0. Probably too late to add it now, but would a multi-player Hot Shots be available in the future? Maybe two person teams like the MC and Yvette vs. Amy and Alice, or something similar. Should open up some intriguing possibilities for rewards during and after the game.

With a total of 20 girls (21 if Carla is added), the problem of overcrowding may come up again. Here is a possible solution. Use the Angle button which is used in animation scenes to allow the player to change the angle he views the room. Start with the Restaurant and the Night Bar where overcrowding happens most often. When the button is pushed, the PC looks 90 degrees to the right. Another set of tables is seen in the restaurant which shows you the extra girls sitting there. In the bar, the staircase or pole area is seen with the otther girls standing there. If this works, you could do the same for the other settings. Long term, perhaps more than 9 girls could be on the island.

The panning might be a useful function in the night bar as currently there are limited areas/backgrounds. However, a new area is going to be introduced for the beach in the next update, so spreading the girls out should be easier. Plus, there is the sunbed background and beach bar from the Eva scene. Rather see the option to invite a girl to a specific location than the current notification that there are X number of girls in a location, but only three are showing.

The new location at the beach will not be used for regular girls. It will only have the two new girls right now. There are no plans to change that in the near future. The way the locations are organized it would require a lot of redesign and game adjustments to really use something like sub locations for the regular girls.

What about the event Ivy (Sex) where he is supposed to have an erection in the room through the Blue Pile and does not get a pill despite the pill and sex with Ivy is not triggered.
