The hive must grow and flourish and for that it needs plenty of capable workers. Thankfully, once a queen has been established, she can rapidly build a worforce all on her own. Then again, it might just be faster to make use of the humans that are already aimlessly wandering around the mansion. It would certainly give them a much better purpose...

New bees must first grow to their new selves inside the queen's eggs. The eggs can only be produced inside of the queen, so logically, humans will have to enter the queen through her tail.

Whether the workers were once humans or have been bees from the beginning, they will be fully loyal to their queen, the hive becomes everything to them. anything within close proximity to the hive will be treated as a threat, however usually only humans are brave (or clueless) enough to get anywhere near that place if it can be avoided.
