Hey folks! In the latest suggestions post there were a ton of great options, including several games that were tied for most popular, meaning I have to whittle that down a bit, but I'm also going to give up my editor's choice to give one of them an extra spot, and of course the 2nd place games from the last poll are here as well, so we've got a packed bill tonight. As always, the poll will run for two weeks, you can vote for as many games as you like, and the 2nd place game(s) will reserve a spot on the next poll.

Nucleum - Tying for 2nd place in the last poll we have Nucleum. In this alternate timeline, industrialists compete for supremacy in this new nuclear powered industrial revolution. A lot of people are talking about this one, and I've heard it compared to games like Brass and Barrage, but with a less restrictive and less mean design. It still looks pretty involved though, and Board and Dice is known to make complex games with so-so rulebooks, so a good video might be just what it needs.

Dune Imperium: Uprising - The other tied game from the last poll, this standalone sequel to Dune Imperium expands on the original's worker placement/deck-building combo, and even adds a team variant at six players. I happen to like this version even more than the original, so I'd be happy to go back to Arrakis. Apparently the Rise of Ix and Immortality expansions work with this as well, so I'd probably cover those too.

Hegemony - Class warfare in a game. It's a concept that seems like a tricky subject to pull off, but I think they've made it work. I had a chance to play Hegemony recently and I think it's just the kind of game that could benefit from a good rules video. Similar to Root in that each class plays quite differently, Hegemony is a very asymmetric strategy game that immediately puts you into the role you're playing, and I could have a lot of fun with that. Looks like there's a couple small expansions too, so I'd see if I could get my hands on those as well.

Last Light - While I haven't played this game since it was still in development, I was shocked at how well it accomplished the goal of "4x game in an hour." A game with an admittedly grim setting (civilizations gathering light before the end of the universe), I remember this game being a ton of fun to play, and I'd love to show it off to even more people. Anything that shakes up the genre of space 4x game, instead of just making "TI4 but ___" is worth checking out, and I think this game fully stands on its own.

Here I Stand - I'll admit I don't know much about this historical wargame, set in Europe during the Protestant Reformation, but I've been curious about these kinds of games for a while and this does seem to be one of the best. At least, it's in the top ten of BGG's wargames list. And since wargames have been a bit underrepresented in RTFM's lineup, I certainly don't mind broadening my horizons a bit.

played 'here i stand' at a con years ago. six participants, three of us newbies. the three experienced players just used us as tools. it was all about negotiation, and they knew what they were bargaining for. i've steered clear ever since.

WOW! I was seriously about to write today and ask if you'd ever consider teaching war games!! I have been interested in them for a while, but they always seem daunting. I played Navajo Wars a while back and really liked it. I've been trying to get Fire in the Lake to the table with my group, but, alas, not yet.

It's tough, because I have a lot less experience with wargames, and they do tend to be a little less popular amongst the broad gaming audience, so there's a little less incentive for me to cover them. That being said, I do know that the people who do like wargames REALLY like them, so I want to make sure to give it a chance at least.

Oops; just joined. Four days too late to vote. I would appreciate coverage of the new game Tanto Monta; it is in the same vein as Here I Stand, but (like Virgin Queen) even more challenging to learn.
