We're Going Back to Mars! (Jan 2023 newsletter) (Patreon)
Content
Hey folks! As you can see, On Mars has won the poll and will be the next Patreon-sponsored game I teach (after Star Trek Ascendancy, which should go up at the end of January). I'm very excited to try it, as it's probably the most appealing Lacerda game for me. And with an expansion to boot! Food Chain Magnate, a title that has appeared on several polls in the past, was a close second, so it has secured a guaranteed spot on the next one, but in the meantime there's a lot of work to be done.
The video I've been hard at work on all December was Europa Universalis: The Price of Power, and it should be going live any day now. The video is ready, I'm just waiting for the final approval from the publishers to release it. And let me tell you, this is a big one. This is, in fact, the biggest one I've ever done. With the tutorial clocking in at about 50 minutes, this may be the most complex game I've ever played. Definitely the most complex I've ever taught. But because I was able to take that from haven't played to fully finished in basically 30 days, it gives me a lot of hope about doing more content in 2023. Now that I know I can, I feel like I really should. Of course, part of the reason I was able to do this was that I didn't have any Rahdo games to film, and that won't always be the case, but my long-term goal is to do less of those and more of this anyway, so here's a rough road map of the year ahead.
- Star Trek Ascendancy (January)
- Sigil (February, commissioned)
- On Mars (March)
- Nut Hunt (April, commissioned)
- Patreon-requested game (May)
- Galactic Era (June, commissioned)
- Patreon-requested game (July)
- Deliverance (August, commissioned)
As you can see, I've got quite a few commissions on the books this year, but I've made sure to schedule them with enough time to do Patreon-requested games in between. And if I can keep that pace up, I should have new tutorials up every month. On top of that, I'm looking to do more content in general, so 2023 is looking to be a pretty busy year.
How about you folks? Any big resolutions for the new year?
