Thank you all for voting on my expansion poll! I'm happy to say that we'll be revisiting Root! Now luckily I already have all of the new expansion material, so I can get to learning it fairly soon, though I can't guarantee a timetable for when this will release, save to say that it will be this year. I've got a fair few projects in the works and I've also decided to film the War of the Ring expansion video that I've been putting off for so long, so I'll probably be doing that one first. Regardless, I'm very excited to be going back into the forest once more.

This expansion is so great, I would almost say crucial to play Root these days. I would rate it as the second expansion to get after base game and only because getting Exiles & Partisans first gives more bang for your buck. 50% of its greatness lies in ADSET, the Advanced Setup which is now how tournaments are played (Space Cats Peace Turtles among others) and the old Reach system is now antiquated. 10% in its greatness lies in two militant factions! Makes setup and variability much better without necessarily needing the base factions (Marquise and Eyrie in particular) in the game. 18% Lord of the Hundreds/17% Keepers in Iron respectively as the two factions, slightly lower to Keepers due to relative high complexity before you get what to do as them and a final few % to the hirelings. Haven’t played enough with them to like or dislike them. Also! Don’t forget you can find PnP versions of the Advanced Setup rules on the Marauder Kickstarter! That way you can play with it without needing the expansion per se! Just use the rules and roll some (digital even?) dice from the card list to randomize the factions! And don’t forget to use those cards as reference when setting up!
