Hey folks! So as you can see I got married this month! It was a small ceremony with just family and close friends and we had a great time. My parents run a bed and breakfast in the hills of Northern California and they were kind enough to lends us the place for the weekend. The whole thing was incredible, and as I bet you can imagine, took quite a bit of planning to pull off, so the last month has been pretty busy for me. I did get a chance to play a few games though. Some that I have been wanting to play for a long time.
I've long held that I never wanted to play Star Wars Armada (or X-Wing for that matter) because I'd get too into it and would sink all my money into buying more. And I don't think I was entirely wrong about that because after playing it it's been in my head for quite some time. Thankfully, I now have a friend who has already put quite a bit of money into it and if I just play with him, it won't cost me a dime :D
He's also really into Infinity, which after making it through the longest teach I've ever experienced for a game, I can easily say is Not For Me, but I do appreciate why it's held in such high regard. For the unaware, Infinity is a squad-based tactical miniatures game that utilizes true line-of-sight, meaning that to determine if your unit can see another unit, you gotta get your head down next to it and look. It's an impressive system, but I wouldn't exactly call it intuitive.
I also got to try out Ethnos, which I've been curious about ever since it was published, but just never managed to try until recently. And I thoroughly enjoyed it! I think it's a great game that suffers from looking just a bit too generic. It's got a pretty standard area control game that gets shifted around each time you play based on which factions you include in the deck. Halflings, goblins, wizards, it's all fairly basic fantasy stuff, but each one changes the game in a significant way, and it makes me really eager to try it again.
And that's about all for now. I'll end with a reminder to vote in the poll if you haven't already, as it will end very soon. Oh, and as for Sidereal Confluence, that video is on track to come out at the end of May. Unfortunately the upcoming expansion wasn't close enough to production for WizKids to have a prototype on hand, so I won't be able to cover that. However I decided to do a second video going over each of the nine factions, because they are all very different. Y'all will get that early, but it'll probably be out a week after the main video. Anyway, thanks as always for being here!
