Hey folks! As you can see, Dune Imperium is the winner of the next tutorial poll. Brass Birmingham had a strong showing, but once again got 2nd place, and thus guaranteed a spot in the next poll. I'm a big fan of deckbuilding games, especially when they're combined with something else, so I'm really looking forward to returning to Arrakis and getting spicy. I will have to think of new Dune jokes for this one (and probably roll my eyes at a few more YT comments from people who don't think I'm a big enough fan of the source material), but I am ready and willing to do so. Of course, that's not the only big news I have for you...

Yes, I did teach the original Nemesis, and while I had hoped to cover Lockdown (a standalone expansion) back then, as it had just finished its Kickstarter, they didn't have any prototypes available. Anyway, I'm glad they didn't because now Awaken Realms has commissioned a new tutorial for the completed version of Lockdown. I'm very excited for this because, while I've done commissions for fundraising campaigns, this is the first time I've been hired to make an official tutorial for a (soon to be) published game!

The Nemesis video will be going up around October/November depending on their shipping schedules, which will kind of skirt real close to the Dune Imperium tutorial's expected release date, so that might come out a little earlier or later than expected. That being said, over the next five months, I expect to be releasing five tutorials: Oath, end of August; Nemesis: Lockdown, Oct/Nov; Dune, Nov probably?; Age of Galaxy, this is finished, just waiting for the KS launch some time in Q4; Root Underworld/Clockwork some time before New Years. The rest of the year will be pretty busy, but I'm happy to be making more and more tutorials.

For now though, I'm focusing most of my attention on Oath, which as the above picture might imply, is a very charming game. It's also pretty cutthroat at times, but I'm thoroughly enjoying it. I'll be finishing up the filming of it by tomorrow and then it's just a matter of editing it all together. I should also be doing a Rahdo runthrough of it around the end of the month as well, so that'll be a fun companion piece. Speaking of Rahdo, I recommend checking out my Watergate runthrough if you are at all interested in that game. It's just such a solid game, and I got to play it with Ruel Gaviola, who is an absolute delight to work/game with.

I also played Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood of Venice, which is a great campaign game that comes in just an absurdly large box. I know that it's not the biggest box out there, but it's close. If you like Assassin's Creed though (and have a cool $160 to spend when it becomes available), it's worth checking out.

And lastly I'm going to leave you with this image from a game called Wild: Serengeti, which I'll be covering on Rahdo's channel this month. The game is a pretty solid pattern arranging game, and I especially love it because while setting this up, putting out all of these delightful animal figures, I was reminded just how silly my job is sometimes. Board games are good, actually.

Woo hoo, Dune!! Don't forget the new Dune movie comes out October 22 and looks really good.

RTFM

Yeah, I'm pretty excited about it! I'll probably have to write my script before I get to see it, but it looks pretty great.
