Beyond Friendship - Technical Preview! (Patreon)

Hello! Today we're releasing the Technical Preview of our game, Beyond Friendship! As you start the game, you'll be welcomed to Bridlebrook, the happiest town in the Kingdom of Marehaven! Or at least it would be if the principal at your new school wasn't such a stick in the mud. Learn all about romance and naughty fun with your hot, new friends in spite of Princess Eventide's rules!

Beyond Friendship is a 2D, isometric RPG with a focus on romance and relationship building. You will play as Reik' (or whatever you decide to name yourself), who has recently arrived at the small town of Bridlebrook and is now attending the local college: Friendship Academy! You'll meet plenty of new ponies and have a ton places to explore, but it won't be all fun and games. The kingdom has recently changed rulers for the first time in over a thousand years, and the new princess has already made some seriously shocking changes.

Turns out Princess Eventide is a serious prude! She's outlawed all kinds of fun things like casual sex and slutty clothes. Of course just making something illegal doesn't stop ponies from doing it. It just means they've had to get creative...

Enter Beyond Friendship, Bridlebrook's first and only magical sex shop! In a time when ponies are more pent-up than ever, using new and exciting toys is the only way they can unwind. But although business is booming for this little store, it's not without its troubles. Not everyone appreciates the products they sell, and being spotted leaving or entering can wreak havoc on one's reputation. You in particular will have to take special care, as the apartment on the second floor is the only vacancy left in town...

Explore the town, make some hot friends, and even fall in love! Beyond Friendship contains plenty of action, but it's not an action-oriented game. It focuses more on daily tasks and RPG elements, like spending time with your new paramours and getting shredded at the gym. If I had to compare it to another game, I'd say it's most similar to the newer Persona games, except there are no time limits and there's a lot of sex instead of turn-based combat.

Our plan at the moment is to release sizable updates every other month. We have a whole roadmap planned out already, and we're setting deadlines for ourselves to keep things moving at a steady pace. But although we have some guesses for how much content we'll be able to pack into these updates, we simply won't have a good idea until we're a few updates in so be prepared for our plans to change as we move along.

After a while, we also plan to start posting community polls so that you guys can help us decide the future of the game! However since we already have the main story completely outlined and roadmapped, the polls will only be to help us pick characters for side routes or other bonus content. Sorry guys, but we have a vision and we're sticking to it!

That's all we have to say for now! The only thing left for you to do is to play the preview, then tell us what you think! Keep in mind going in that the game is in very early alpha.
