They are actually two years younger than the ages mentioned in the Naver VLive open episode 1, because of the way S Koreans used to count age. It used to be one year old at birth and another year at the new year, and since most of them are born late in the year (except j-hope and Suga) they are about two years older than stated. S Korea switched to global age counting this year. SO when JK says he is 19, he is actually 17. He joined BTS at 13 and was 15 when they debuted in June 2013. Jimin says he is 21, but he is 19. Etc. Their Global ages at debut were: Namjoon/RM - 18 Jin - 20 Suga - 20 j-hope - 19 Jimin - 17 Taehyung/V - 17 Jungkook - 15

Fun Fact - Big Hit created their own platform, Weverse, for BTS to livestream so they had more control to protect them from haters and industry manipulation and sabotage. Naver, which owned VLive, was pretty upset about it. Then Weverse got so huge it swallowed up VLive and VLive doesn't even exist anymore and now all the artists from other companies are on Weverse too, which BTS partially owns, since the members all own stock in their own company that they built from the ground up. Revenge is sweet.
