What are Mentorships?
Mentorships are a new program I am offering here on Patreon. They are a chance for you to receive personalized one-on-one coaching and guidance to help you build a stronger, more marketable portfolio, and help you find and take the next steps in your career as an illustrator.
How do I sign up?
Just subscribe to the Order of the Chimera tier and you are in!
When do they happen?
At the beginning of each month, we will be opening up 3 spots for monthly mentorships. Monthly sign-ups will run for the first week of the month ONLY. After the first week is over, we will close the sign-ups for the month. Everyone who has signed up will then receive an orientation email and calendar options for their live chat.
Live chat sessions will happen the second week of the month on a Monday, Wednesday, and Friday around that time, 10AM-12AM EST (unless announced otherwise). If you already know which day you want when you sign up, please feel free to email me with a request! We will schedule people first come, first served. These sessions will be conducted over Google Hangouts.
What if I want to stay on for several months?
There is no limit, and if you would like to do a more extensive mentorship, just stay subscribed and your place will be saved. At the beginning of each month we will plan out what to talk about in your next meeting and also develop a roadmap for a longer mentorship.
What if there are no spots left?
If there are no sign-up spots left but you are still interested, please message me and we will see if we can work out a time to add an extra space! We are starting this program small for now, but if there is enough interest we will add more slots.
The Details:
During the live chat we will go over your current work, your career goals and work on any technical issues that might be holding you back. I will be looking for actionable ways you can improve your work and your marketing so that you can get better work and improve your ability to sell your work.
While the general focus is how to help you improve your work and career, I am also happy to do live demonstrations of specific techniques or paint-overs if you would like something more technical.
For the rest of the month after the Mentorship chat, if you have any other follow-up questions or would like to share the progress you've made on your current work with me, please email them to me. I will get back to you before the end of the month with answers to any questions as well as any tips and feedback that might helpful with your current art projects. The goal with this final feedback email is to try and cover any gaps we missed in our first conversation and to set up some clear, actionable goals to make your work better and more marketable in the future.
