Shame you didn’t watch the version where Karl actually sings Jump by Van Halen in his best whiny Manc voice😂

He's so right about the M6. Exciting is driving Hardknott Pass, or Wrynose Pass, etc. Through the Pennines, things like that. Well... not exciting, interesting at least though.

irreverend

I think regarding him asking if Americans have more fun, it's more to do with average levels of enthusiasm I guess. It does seem less acceptable to be overly enthusiastic in the UK. I find really enthusiastic people tiring after a while, need to be alone afterwards.

Aww I love Benidorm , I joined the Patreon as he was having trouble getting them to YouTube 😢

Erica

The last one Brian watched wasn’t very good and that’s because the actor who payed Mel died so they had to change the episode in a rush but Brian didn’t know that. So understandably he was disappointed in the episode . I can’t remember if it was still good after that . The hairdresser was hilarious

Erica

The cuddle party wouldn’t be popular here you’re right . Aw I love QB and her little glances at the baby monitor ❤️. You’ve a good Mrs there Brian x

Yeh I seen that & it’s a shame because loads of the good characters are about to come in like the hairdresser , Lesley & Liam. I hope he gives it another go 🙏

Jay

KB, your comment on optimism vs pessimism is very true, especially in our comedy. I highly recommend you watch this clip with Stephen Fry on U.S. vs U.K. comedy, as he pretty much nails it. https://youtu.be/8k2AbqTBxao?feature=shared

Lord Charfield

Good for you, having a thought for the Native Americans…………also, how do you fk a grape?

Lord Charfield

I could ‘cuddle’ Valerie all night, EVERY night ! 😍

Lord Charfield

Coconuts are in most U.K. supermarkets!

Lord Charfield

I’d do the ‘leather’ no question‼️

Ginge Tomassi

You have fun more often than us for sure but maybe not better.

Z is for Zed

Was Glee more popular in the UK than the US or something? Never actually saw the show itself, but I can't work out how King was able to completely avoid the endless deluge of shit covers that found their way into every element of TV and radio for a while back in the day.

Don't forget that karl actually did another 2 seasons of travelling programs, it's called "The moaning of life". Same as idiot abroad but travelling with a purpose like vocation and life choices, he actually returns to the USA again in it, you would both definitely enjoy it after season 3 of idiot is over, speaking of season 3 it's only 3 episodes but he does have a companion, I won't spoil who it is though incase you don't already know. You can't go wrong with mote Karl tv travel. Great reaction guys.

Mark Parker

I would carry a bunch of grapes around with me

Mark Parker

I can see more than cuddling there

Mark Parker

We think the worst so if it ends up good it’s a bonus

John smith

Happy bonfire night

David fallows

Series 3 and don't forget the moaning of life so funny.

Jehan Ariyaratnam

I grew up in England and moved to Australia in my late 20s, recently that underlying cynicism has been coming out a lot. It think it's in built as Brits

Rob Walters

"No, a real whale you climb into.." I love QB xx

LyingSecret

From now on, if King sees someone he finds attractive during a video, he should bring out a bag of grapes and start chowing down, see how long it takes Queen to notice :D

I really enjoyed visiting a range in the Texas, they were very friendly and professional, we spent time in a classroom before hitting the actual range, were taught safely and technique, and provided with hearing and eye protection. Not the crazy gun-tooting stereotypes at all. Conversely, I went to a range in Estonia about 15 years ago, and they were crazy like tis guy, just chucked us weapons to fire with no training (and we were very drunk), then after they emptied the chamber they let us take photos, we were putting them to each others heads and everything. Also, I thought of Coney Island (New York) when I saw that beach, went there a few years back, and visited "Nathans" where they do the hot dog eating competitions. That did hit the stereotype!

You are right about the whole UK versus American optimism/thinking thing. It is a generalization of course, but British people tend to view Americans as too optimistic to a point that you are being unrealistic and dreaming. British people are very grounded in reality and "down to earth". Most of us don't have huge grandeur dreams of success, we just want to have enough to live comfortably and happily. The whole "American Dream" and optimism thing is great if luck happens to go your way, but if it does not then you tend to get hit extra hard as you did not plan for and cannot always accept worse case scenarios. This absolutely translates into comedy. British people are very self-deprecating, and look for the humor in our own failures. We also love the mocking our friends flaws & failures which many Americans don't understand and get offended by, when in the UK it's universally understood to be light hearted and meant as a joke, especially if coming from a friend or loved one. It is the tone which tells us if/when something is being said with ill intent and not meant as a joke. Americans do not have that same mocking/joke culture and it seems like most would take it the wrong way and assume the person is trying to offend rather than trying to make a joke.

Agreed Liam. Paying the same (or less) than a pint of beer a Month to support King and Queen Boomer's channel is more than worth it. Can't stand people moaning about paying such a small amount towards anyone that puts a lot of work into something.

Oliver

Watching those leather guys eerily brought me back Inbetweeners movie 1 - Fernando - the master of self..........
