Clarkson's helmet is an old East German combat helmet, and Mays I think is an old Parachute helmet. It's just a slight visual gag to show how much older they are than Hammond, or perhaps to joke the BBC wouldn't pay for modern gear for them.

That music was from The A Team. The best show ever to have aired on TV.

The stig is the tame racing driver that drove tested cars for them. Nobody knew who he was until he decided to write a book after he left the show. This was there way of replacing him. In the very next episode james says luckily he grew up so fast 😆

King Boomer, you really should watch Lawrence of Arabia. One of the greatest movies ever made. It's the movie that Spielberg watches for inspiration before every movie he directs. Just be warned that it's almost 4 hours long though, but worth every moment.

I highly recommend going on to watch some of the Grand Tour specials, once you've exhausted the Top Gear ones... The Mongolian special from the Grand Tour is probably my favourite special from both shows!

There's a guy called Levinson Wood who does shows where he does really long walks, and he goes through some really dangerous areas, but he does it because he's interested in the people, the culture, the flora/fauna and the history, he makes really fascinating shows which I think you'd love, he's walked the length of the Nile, Himalayas including Afghanistan, Central America including the Darien Gap, the Middle East and Caucasus Mountains, and another season where he walks with Orangutans, Lions and Polar Bears, he's an ex army officer and professional explorer, I love all his shows as his approach is very anthropological too.

Am thinking of editing together a few of the challenges from main program including that exactly 👍 a few others that know boomer will enjoy might do before another special and definitely before moving to grand tour as not sure if I can even send the Amazon content due to copyright restrictions
