now red dwarf picks up

James

Awesome. You've done the tutorial (1&2), now settle in for Red Dwarf proper!

David Williams

Oh yes probably one of the best episodes ever.

Matt Wells

Love this show, I started watching it when it first came out 35 years ago and still watch it now!

The next 4 Series are brilliant.

Andrew Powell

Robert Llewellyn (Cryton), also played the British army veteran with the carved wooden leg, in the Bottom episode "Parade".

Rob Walters

I've got 'Only Fools and Horses' withdrawal symptoms...

Though I'm a fan of seasons 1&2, I think most would agree 3-6 are Red Dwarf's peak. You've got some real treats coming up. The next couple of episodes are all time greats.

Richard Stokes

Polymorph in this series is an all time classic, look forward to you seeing that one! Marooned is very good too

Pete Owen

If you play the people voices backwards (so they're normal and forwards) theres one part where you basically get called out for being so anal to bother doing it

Stephen Kershaw

On the DVD extras for this series, there's an episode called "Backwards, Forwards." I'll leave up to you to make up your mind what that's about.

Chris C

The outdoor scenes in the city are in Manchester just off Piccadilly Gardens

"they jumped the budget up a lot" yep they landed back on earth. budget is always going up, here in space there is no budget.

S3 is probably the series I remember most initially, since my brother and I then had a VCR in our room so we could record the episodes live from then on. We'd been watching RD since the start in Feb 1988, but could only re-watch S1 and S2 episodes when the VHS releases appeared a few years later. They were happy days though.

For me season 3 and the introduction of Robert Llwellyn as Kryten I believe really ramped up the quality of the comedy on Red Dwarf. You're in for a good few laughs with upcoming episodes now!! Still a decent show to this very day but for me the best of the show were the episodes of season 3 through to about season 7. After that i personally thought it kinda lost its way a bit and the writing wasn't getting the laughs the show used to. But still very much worth a watch all the same, you've defo got some laughs coming your way bud!! Enjoy!! Keep up the good work fella, may sound strange but seeing you and the queen just laugh an smile so much really does make me genuinely happy inside, so thank you both for that!! Perfect couple as well btw and was made up to hear the news about ya getting hitched and having a little baby boomer!!! I really think Queen Boomer might be the one!! 🤣 Good job bud. Look after yaselves, much love. Matty x

Woohoo I was in the live studio audience for this one! It had to be pre-recorded and screened for obvious reasons, but the actors were there.

If I'm not mistaken, this was the first ever TV series to use reverse video footage, had only ever been used in films before this. I could be wrong about that though, but I definitely read it somewhere

Brodie Vickers

From what I can remember they didn't sack Norman. At the end of each series, the cast & crew always thought that it would be their last. After series 2 he moved up to Scotland, by the time No. 3 came along he couldn't be arsed to come down to do the job, so he quit. They ended up bringing in Hattie from the last series to fill his shoes.

Look for backwards forwards on YouTube, some genius reversed it
