I think country music has a small following in the UK, though I've never met anyone personally who likes it, apart from Dolly Parton? I think she's popular-ish. I like a few songs from a band called Blackberry Smoke (sunrise in Texas etc). They're listed as a rock band, but give me 'country vibes', although I probably haven't heard enough country music to know for sure. But as a rule, I'm more of a hard rock guy, and a classical music fan too. I listen to a lot of orchestral movie soundtracks, a lot of the time. I don't really care for chart music. Never have.

Gold Rush wasn't a real show, but there was a show called Going For Gold on TV when I was really young. I barely remember it but I remember the theme. Weird how some things stick in the memory like that
