I think that they believe what they're doing is correct as there is no repercussions. If they kill all monsters then no good monsters can turn bad and no people can get in the way if they kill them. BUT its the same argument about would you kill a baby hitler before he can do any bad. ALTHOUGH I believe personally that everyone deserves a chance even monsters. I'm a Brit myself but the British Men of Letters are dicks.

I have to agree with Christopher reeves being a Brit also then British men are letters are dicks they don't have to kill everyone who the winchesters encounter

I want so badly to believe that they're actually good, but I just don't know what to think. I really hope they don't do the thing where they say they just want to help, and they do, but then they use that to make them do something that they don't want to, because now they 'owe them one'. That, and I don't think it's fair for the writers to keep making the bad guys so damn attractive! DAMN THOSE SEXY ACCENTS! BTW 1. Cas first appeared in Season 4 Episode 1, 2. The nephilim in Season 8 (episode 22) was just some random angel's child, 3. The Antichrist is a demon/human hybrid and 4. The reaper that killed herself was Tessa, and that was in Season 9 Episode 22.

I think that they are just uncompromising in their beliefs. It's like people calling vampires, werewolves and trolls monsters, and only ever seeing them as that. In most universes, in books and tv now it isn't so black and white. The British men of letters is an old organisation, probably ruled by stuffy old men deeply rooted in their traditions. In our sense like from another era. We do see younger men, even women in the show, but they are just blind followers. Might be what the show is going for. In that case, they don't exactly have an ulterior motive, we just don't like their way of thinking.

I'd say they think there doing good but there doing even more bad along the way like killing innocent people witch is not good.
