No cause they're vikings wasn't harsh for that time period but if my brother did that to me today that would be very harsh cause that's how society has evolved

Not too harsh. Especialy not for those times. I hope, that the people that left for the Silk road, will find out about Ivar along the way and send word back home. Which might give Hvisterk something to focuse on and pull himself together to seek revenge.

He got past Hvitserk leaving him on the boat, he didn't kill him during the war & he gave him a chance when clearly he was a mess. Harsh words are more than fine considering how hard Ubbe have tried with him.

no, i dont think it was to harsh since it comes from a place of love and vikings probably dont have any concept of addiction/rehabilitation in those times. which is why ubbe saw his relapse as a betrayal.
