i really enjoyed this movie especially the part with Mega Godzilla being there even tho it didn't look like it but meh ill take it might never see it in actual theaters.

This movie is a fun adventure full of current pop trends to look at, but 5% of the book. I wouldnt even call it "based on", since the only similarities are the names really. Book is a 10, Movie is a 6.5.

Because the hero of the story, Wade, in the movie...doesnt really do anything. In the book, him being dirt poor and starting with nothing, going to school, doing the Dungeons and Dragons level, having to risk his characters life to win the first challenge and then from there its just all on his shoulders and he powers through. Sacrificing himself for his friends, etc. A true underdog hero by the end. In the movie, hes just kind of a piece in the puzzle. Really Art3mis is the hero of the movie. She does all the heavy lifting.

The book is one of the best books I've read in a while. If you like nerdy things/the classics and nerd culture, as well as love imagining fantastical elements - then this is a book you'll love for sure. The progression of them finding the keys in the book really drew me in and there were some darker elements in the book as well. Still entertaining movie but definitely worth a read IF you liked the movie :)

One of the worst book adaptation I have seen. I didn´t even find it all that enjoyable as a movie, even when not compared to the book. I mean it looks great. And the references are cool. But the plot and characters were pretty butchered.

that was surprisingly fun! i didn't watch it when it came out because the trailer showed how different it was from the book, which i adore, but watching it with you guys was a treat!

I've never read the books, and I got about half way through, before I had to stop and go do something else, and just was never interested enough to go back and finish.

I was so confused when Shane said the the actress that played F'Nale was in the Fantastic Beast series. Only when he called her Zoe Kravitz did I fully understand..... then died from laughter.

The movie was OK, but the book is a million times better. There's just a charm to the book that wasn't in the film.
